The latest rumours in the world of MMA are that Arman Tsarukyan and Charles Oliveira will rematch at lightweight at UFC 314 in Miami, Florida this April.
Although unconfirmed, speculation has been rife that Arman Tsarukyan’s next fight will in fact not be for the UFC Lightweight Title, following his pull-out of the UFC 311 main event with Islam Makhachev just 24 hours before the fight was set to take place.
Instead of being awarded the next 155-pound title shot immediately, Tsarukyan must come through ‘Do Bronx’ once again if he is to be the next challenger to Makhachev’s throne.
Tsarukyan vs Oliveira was of course a fight that took place at UFC 300 last April, and it now looks like the pair will run in back to see who is next in line to fight Islam Makhachev for the UFC Lightweight Title.
First time around it was Tsarukyan who got the job done, defeating the former champion via split decision. Since then, Oliveira has beaten Michael Chandler and once again has his sights set on the title, and will be confident of revenge this time around against the Armenian-Russian MMA star.
The best UFC betting sites would likely favour Tsarukyan in this match-up if the UFC 314 rumours are true. This comes as no surprise given that he won the first fight and Oliveira is also the older fighter. Tsarukyan vs Oliveira 2 Could Co-Headline UFC 314
If the latest UFC 314 rumours are true and Charles Oliveira’s next fight is indeed a rematch with Arman Tsarukyan, then MMA fans are in for a treat on April 12 at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida.
UFC President Dana White still hasn’t made any more official announcements on UFC 314, but it seems a Tsarukyan vs Oliveira rematch makes total sense and could co-headline to Alexandre Pantoja vs Kai Kara-France in the main event for the UFC Flyweight Title.
It had previously been touted that Ilia Topuria vs Alexander Volkanovski 2 would take place as the UFC 314 main event, but that fight is yet to be announced and could be pushed back to UFC 315 or perhaps even UFC 316.
With that in mind, the Arman Tsarukyan vs Charles Oliveira rematch is a perfect co-main event to Pantoja vs Kara-France. In fact, the majority of UFC fans would be more intrigued in this fight as a co-main event than they would the actual headline attraction.
For now nothing is concrete, but fingers crossed for an official announcement in the coming days or weeks for UFC 314. Let’s hope the Tsarukyan vs Oliveira 2 rumours are true and the fight gets signed for UFC 314 this April.
