Declan Rice Strike Cancels Out Bruno Fernandes’ Beauty
The match got off to a cagey start with both sides unable to find any real rhythm, despite Arsenal being the heavy favourites on UK betting sites and having the majority of possession.
Mikel Arteta’s side had the first real chance of the match as Mikel Merino saw his effort from the edge of the box fly past the post.
United had some half-chances of their own, with Joshua Zirkzee, Alejandro Garnacho and Bruno Fernandes involved in the majority of the attacks.
However, it was the Manchester Untied captain that broke the deadlock just before the break, as Fernandes scored a stunning free-kick to put the Red Devils ahead.
Arsenal were looking for an immediate reply in the second half and almost managed to do so as Martin Odegaard forced a good save from Andre Onana.
The hosts came close to doubling their lead but David Raya made a miraculous save from point blank range to keep Noussair Mazaroui’s effort out.
Arsenal managed to find an equaliser in the 74th minute through Declan Rice, after the Englishman’s strike cannoned off the post and into the back of the net.
The visitors continued to dominate possession and looked like the side that was going to take the lead, but United’s defence kept them at bay and the match ended in a stalemate.
