WrestleMania 42 will take place in New Orleans, Louisiana, at the Caesars Superdome on April 11 and 12, 2026.
This marks WWE’s third time bringing its biggest event of the year to New Orleans, following WrestleMania 30 in 2014 and WrestleMania 34 in 2018.
The announcement was originally made on February 24, 2025, during WWE SmackDown, when Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson made a surprise appearance and confirmed the news live in front of a roaring hometown crowd.

Why WWE Chose New Orleans for WrestleMania 42
WWE’s decision to return to New Orleans for WrestleMania 42 highlights the city’s strong history with sports entertainment and its proven ability to host high-impact events.
The Rock, as TKO Board Director, explained why the Big Easy made perfect sense for 2026.
“New Orleans for us as a company and a brand, as WWE, has always been an amazing city,” The Rock said. “Dating back from when I had the privilege of lacing up the boots and running around, and raising an eyebrow, dropping People’s Elbows on some fools around here.”

New Orleans has a rich legacy in pro wrestling — one that predates even WrestleMania itself. The Rock, reflecting on his own wrestling lineage, called it a “big wrestling city” with a deeply rooted fanbase going back generations.
“Here in New Orleans was very, very special. [It] was always a big wrestling city in the ’70s and certainly the ’80s. Especially the early ’80s. Junkyard Dog, guys like that, Michael Hayes, the Freebirds — there was a lot that happened here in the city of New Orleans.”
WWE first brought WrestleMania to New Orleans in 2014 with WrestleMania 30, an event still hailed for Daniel Bryan’s emotional underdog triumph. They returned in 2018 for WrestleMania 34, drawing another massive crowd to the Superdome.
This deep connection to the past, combined with the city’s proven hosting ability, made the decision straightforward.
“We start to look at geographically, where’s a great destination point to bring fans? And where can we hold a two-day event, that’s WrestleMania, that can be robust and not only bring a lot of dollars and jobs and opportunities to the city, but also a great city that’s been so good to us over the years?” The Rock explained.
“So the decision was a fairly easy decision once we did the diligence.”
