Willie Mullins Cheltenham Runners Include Dr Eggman and Classic Getaway On Wednesday

The quest to retain his British jumps trainers title will see top Irish trainer Willie Mullins send a select team to Prestbury Park’s final meeting of the season this midweek.

On the opening day (Wednesday 16th April), the Willie Mullins Cheltenham runners will be four entries. With two each in the Citipost Novices’ Hurdle at 1:30pm and the Silver Trophy Handicap Chase at 2:40pm.

Both Toad Hall and Dr Eggman go in the Citipost Novices’ Hurdle and come into the race off the back of wins. So you feel Mullins will have a great chance of adding this £10k first prize to his tally.

Dan Skelton doesn’t have a runner in the race.

Mullins Trails Skelton By Just Over £8k In The Trainers’ Title Race

Heading into the Cheltenham April Meeting – Mullins trails Skelton by around £8k.

So with £39k on offer to the winner of the Silver Trophy Handicap Chase at 2:40pm – this will be the prize Mullins will want as his race with Dan Skelton continues to be a popular sub-plot to the final few weeks of the season. O’Moore Park and Classic Getaway represent Mullins here.

This contest will also be shown live on ITV Racing.

O’Moore Park, who was taken out of the Scottish National last week, will get in with only 10-9 to carry.

The form of his third to Caldwell Potter in the Jack Richards Novices’ Handicap Chase at the Festival has also been franked by the winner following up at Aintree.

Mullins also has Classic Getaway in the race, who will carry top-weight of 11-12 – but heads here in fine fettle after a win in the Red Mills Chase at Gowran Park in February (watch below).

Dan Skelton also runs two in the race – Riskintheground and Harper’s Brook.

With no Paul Townend, who is still recovering from an arm injury – Danny Mullins and Sean O’Keeffe will be the two Willie Mullins jockeys at Cheltenham this midweek.

If Willie Mullins can win both Cheltenham races on Wednesday he’ll bank £50,757.

Willie Mullins Cheltenham Runners Include Sainte Lucie On Thursday

There will be four more Willie Mullins Cheltenham runners on Thursday that include two Saintes.

Sainte Lucie was an impressive winner earlier in the season at Punchestown but has since flopped in the DRF and was last seen running 8th here at the Festival in the Triumph.

She goes in the Juvenile Handicap Hurdle at 1:35pm – a race worth £22k to the winner. She’s on a recovery mission, but if finding her early season form has to be respected.

Then A Penny A Hundred and Judicieuse will give Mullins a two-pronged attack in the Mares’ Novices’ Handicap Chase at 3:20pm. Which has £28k on offer to the winner.

The pair ran against each other last time too. When A Penny A Hundred was third and Judicieuse Allen was fifth in a Mares’ Novice Chase at Fairyhouse in February.

Sainte Tartare is the final Willie Mullins Cheltenham runner at the 2025 April Meeting. She goes in the Novices’ Hurdle at 3:55pm, which is worth £22k to the winner.

Tartare was also in action at Limerick at the end of January – impressing to win by 21 lengths.

If Mullins can win all three races on Thursday at Cheltenham – he’ll bank £74,035 towards his British trainers’ title.
