New images shared on social media appear to show leaked Southampton kits for the upcoming EFL Championship season – and most fans seem to be impressed.

Southampton are returning to the Championship after a woeful season back in the Premier League.

The Saints finished rock-bottom and became the earliest team in history to be relegated.

They narrowly avoided the accolade of the worst Premier League team ever, snatching a point against Manchester City to finish on 12 – one above Derby County’s record low of 11.

With so much doom and gloom around the club, there’s nothing like a kit launch to lift fans’ spirits.

But the upcoming kit launch may need to be brought forward.

That’s because of images circulating on social media that appear to show the 2025-26 Southampton FC kits.

The images appear to show defender Jack Stephens donning the famous red and white striped home shirt.

There is also a (very blurry) image of a women’s team player in what looks to be the Southampton away kit for next season.

Saints away kits have traditionally been yellow and blue, so this would be a popular move from manufacturer Puma.

A third image, of a black third kit with red and white accents, is also visible.

Saints aren’t the first club to have next season’s strip potentially shown early.

Manchester United’s 2025-26 home kit was reportedly also leaked earlier this week, with mixed reaction.

There has been no official verification of these leaked Southampton kits, but that hasn’t stopped fans having their say.

Fans React To Leaked Southampton Kits

In the replies under the leaked images, fans have been sharing their opinions.

Most appear impressed by the new-look threads.

One Twitter (now X) user said: “I love those kits. Hope it’s real!”

Another added via Instagram: “Absolutely unreal , it’s got champions written all over it!”

“Okay, we have won the championship already,” added a third.

Leaked Southampton FC 2025-26 Home Kit Pays Homage To FA Cup Winning Side

Perhaps the most obvious comparison from these leaked Southampton kits is the similarity between the ‘home’ shirt and that worn in 1976 by the side following their famous FA Cup triumph.

This upcoming season will mark 50 years since the second-tier Saints stunned Manchester United to lift the trophy.

That remains the only major honour won by the club, and the players of that era are idolised by Southampton fans.

Southampton won the FA Cup in 1976.

Although wearing a yellow and blue away strip for the final, the home kit they donned the following season bears a striking resemblance to the leaked 2025-26 images.

The predominantly white strip with alternating wide and narrow red stripes was a hugely popular kit.

Fans were quick to point out the similarity, with one Instagram user saying: “Looks like a throwback to the 1976 FA Cup-winning kit – 50 years on.”

Even fans of other clubs have been admiring the possible new Saints kit.

“Not a Saints fan but I know a good kit when I see one 🔥🔥 giving Alan Ball vibes,” added one commenter.

Popularity Of Leaked Kits Follows Other Positive Southampton FC News

As well as appearing to have delivered some extremely well-liked kits – if these leaked images are real, Southampton recently announced the appointment of new first-team manager, Will Still.

The 32-year-old Englishman made a name for himself coaching in France.

He guided underdogs Reims to an 11th-placed Ligue 1 finish. During that campaign. his side twice drew with giants and this season’s Champions League winners, PSG.

A highly rated coach, Still is viewed by many as superb appointment from Southampton.

Discussing the new manager, Southampton’s sporting director Johannes Spors said: “What was very apparent in our discussions was the clarity of his philosophy and the identity he wants his teams to have.

“But also his willingness and ability to adapt to different situations as they present themselves, which will be an important quality in the Championship next season.”

Spors and the Southampton faithful will be hoping Still can guide them to another immediate promotion.

Despite their 20th-placed relegation, the Saints remain among the favourites to come straight back up.
