The Rory McIlroy US Open golf tee time on day one will see the 2011 winner paired with Shane Lowry and Justin Rose in an all-European three-ball – teeing off at 7:40am.
Rory McIlroy Paired With Justin Rose and Shane Lowry For US Open Opening Rounds
It will be an early start for Master winners Rory McIlroy on the opening day of the US Open golf major.
The world number two is set to tee-off at 7:40am (local time) and has been paired with fellow Europeans Justin Rose and Shane Lowry.
Meaning with the five-hour time difference, UK viewers will see Rory McIlroy tee-off at 12:40pm.
The pairing will also bring back memories of Rose and McIlroy’s Masters play-off clash, which saw the Northern Ireland big hitter come out on top.
McIlroy had been the general second favourite in the 2025 US Open betting market at 8/1 but after a few poor recent rounds, he’s been pushed out to around 15/1
With last year’s winner Bryson DeChambeau, who is looking to become the latest US Open back-to-back winner, now second best at 7/1. With Jon Rahm third in the market at 12/1.
This move is likely due to Rory McIlroy openly saying he’s having some issues with his driver at the moment. Backed up by missing the cut at the recent Canadian Open.
The trio will also play together on day two – teeing off in the afternoon this time at 1:25pm (local time) or 6:25pm (UK time).
World number one Scottie Scheffler has been paired with Viktor Hovland and Collin Morikawa at 1:25pm on day one.

Shane Lowry Finished A Tied Second at Oakmont In 2026
World number 12 player Shane Lowry will play with his pal Rory McIlroy.
Lowry’s only major win came in the 2019 Open at Royal Portrush. However, the good news for his backers is that he’s did well in this event when it was last played at Oakmont.
He finished a tied-second back in 2016 – the last time it was played at the Pennsylvania course.
But it was Dustin Johnson that year that got his hands on the US Open prize money.
Lowry will head into the US Open having finished a solid 13th in the recent Canadian Open.
Justin Rose Will Also Partner McIlroy and Lowry On Day One Of The US Open
In an all-European US Open round one three-ball, the 2025 Masters runner-up Justin Rose will also pair up with McIlroy and Lowry.
Rose has shot up the world rankings to 19th after his Masters efforts. And, of course, the Englishman has winning form in this Major.
His only Major win so far in his career came in the US Open in 2013, when the event was held at Merion Golf Club, which is also in Pennsylvania.
He’ll be hoping the ‘Penn’s Woods’ state will be kind to him again.
