The search for the next Hull City manager is over after the club officially confirmed the appointment of Bosnian manager Sergej Jakirovic.
Forty-eight-year-old Jakirovic has signed a two-year deal with the Championship club.
He arrives from Turkish outfit Kayserispor and replaces the sacked Ruben Selles at the Tigers.
Former Southampton boss Selles was dismissed last month after Hull survived relegation to League One on goal difference.
Next Hull City Manager Confirmed With Sergej Jakirovic Appointment
Jakirovic joins Hull having worked in his native Bosnia, as well as Croatia and Slovenia.
He had only been named Kayserispor boss in January, but left the club by mutual consent after Hull agreed a settlement.
The former Bosnian international defender guided Dinamo Zagreb to a Croatian league and cup double in 2024.
But he left after Zagreb’s record defeat as they were thumped 9-2 by Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League.

Hull City Manager Roullette Continues
Jakirovic becomes the third manager to join Hull City since Liam Rosenior departed.
Rosenior was sacked in May 2024, despite guiding the Tigers to a seventh-placed Championship finish.
His replacement, German boss Tim Walter, lasted a matter of months.
Walter was sacked in November, as Hull occupied the relegation places.
And Spanish coach Selles was in and out within six months after barely keeping Hull up.
Ruben Selles has since been linked to becoming the next Middlesbrough manager, though this seems unlikely.

Jakirovic impressed in Turkey, helping Kayserispor to finish 13th, having been in the relegation zone when he arrived.
In a statement via the club’s website, Hull City chairman Acun Ilicali said: “After a thorough and extensive recruitment process, we are delighted to secure the services of Sergej.
“We believe in the football that he will bring to the MKM Stadium for us and importantly, he has proven himself to be a winner throughout his career.
“My dream for our club has never changed from the first day I took over, and I believe in Sergej as we look forward to the 2025-26 Championship campaign together as one family.”
Along with Jakirovic, coaches Marko Salatovic, Marin Ivancic and Andjelo Roguljic will join him as part of the new-look back-room team at the MKM Stadium.
Who Is The Hull City Manager?
Born on 23 December, 1976, Sergej Jakirovic is a former Bosnian international.
As a player, he spent time in the Croatian first division with numerous clubs.
He made hi international debut in 2005, playing in a friendly against Estonia.
Jakirovic won a total of five caps for Bosnia. But it is as a manager that he has enjoyed more success.
Upon retiring, he worked his way through the Croatian lower leagues as a coach.
And after spells in Bosnia and Slovenia, he was named Dinamo Zagreb boss in 2023.
But when he was sacked in 2024, his attention turned further afield.
Jakirovic is new to managing in England, but with Champions League experience, he knows how to manage at the highest level.
