The 2025 Travelers Championship prize money on offer this week is $20m for a third successive year. Since 2015 when Bubba Watson won the Travelers a decade ago, the total purse has increased by a whopping $13.4m.
Below we have outlined the FULL purse breakdown for all 72 players in action at TPC River Highlands this week. The Travelers Championship is one of five PGA Tour elevated events without a 36-hole cut, meaning the full $20m purse is split between the 72 golfers in action across the four rounds.
$20M Worth Of Travelers Championship Prize Money On Offer This Week
This week sees the Travelers Championship take centre-stage on the PGA Tour in what is the first regular PGA Tour event following the 125th US Open at Oakmont Country Club last week.
JJ Spaun holed a 65-foot monster putt on the final hole to win the US Open, and he is once again teeing it up this week in Connecticut looking to go back-to-back in two consecutive tournaments.
The Travelers Championship also marks the first signature event that both world number one Scottie Scheffler and career Grand Slam winner Rory McIlroy have played in since the Arnold Palmer Invitational back in March.
Along with these aforementioned players are the likes of Ludvig Aberg, Xander Schauffele, Justin Thomas and Collin Morikawa to name but a few of the rest of the field.
As one of the PGA Tour’s elevated events, the Travelers Championship prize money is rather lucrative to say the least. The total prize money and purse splits for all 72 players come Sunday at TPC River Highlands is a colossal $20m.
Scottie Scheffler, who’s net worth recently hit $60m, aims to go back-to-back at the Travelers this week after winning a dramatic play-off last year against Tom Kim.
Could we see an outsider win the Travelers Championship this year, or will it be one of the aforementioned market leaders? All eyes are on TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Connecticut this week as the PGA Tour is back following a truly epic US Open last week.
All the action gets underway on Thursday 19th June, with 72 holes of golf set to be played at the picturesque TPC River Highlands, where Jim Furyk famously shot a course record 58 back in 2016. Who will claim victory come Sunday?
Travelers Championship Purse Is $3.6M For Third Consecutive Year In Signature PGA Tour Event
Whoever goes on to lift the trophy come Sunday will be in for a bumper payday and large share of the Travelers Championship prize money pot for the 2025 showing of this PGA Tour signature event.
Whoever clinches victory come Sunday will leave TPC at River Highlands with an extra $3.6m in the bank, with the runner-up also pocketing a tidy $2,160,000.
This $20m purse is one of the biggest on the PGA Tour, alongside the four majors and the seven other elevated PGA Tour signature events.
Even the player that finishes in 72nd place, a glorified way of saying the player who finishes last, will be guaranteed a payday of $36,000. Not bad for four days of work!
With no cut line this week, all 72 players who complete the four rounds will be in for some kind of payday come Sunday. The higher up the leaderboard they finish, the more money they will earn – simple!
Travelers Championship Prize Money Has Increased By $13.4M In The Last Decade
With the total prize pot for this year’s Travelers Championship remaining at $20m, this means that there has been an increase of $13.4m since Bubba Watson won the event 10 years ago.
There has been a steady rise in the total purse on offer at the Travelers Championship over the years. Back in 2010 when Watson won his first title, he pocketed $1,080,000 for his success.
Now, the player that finishes third receives more in prize money than this. Whoever comes in third place this week at TPC River Highlands will pocket $1,360,000. This is more than the winner received right up until 2022.
Ever since 2023, the Travelers Championship has been one of the PGA Tour signature events with a $20m purse on offer. Even when Xander Schauffele, who boasts a $55m net worth, won in 2022, he received a $1,494,000 share of the total $8.3m purse.
Now, the winner come Sunday will earn over double that. Each of the players will be battling it out to win a large share of the purse, as well as being crowned the champion come Sunday evening.
