The Premier League has confirmed its fixtures for the 2025-26 season, with many at risk of being rescheduled due to teams competing in Europe.
Which Premier League Fixtures Will Be Moved Due To Europe?
A record nine English sides will compete in Europe this term, and with league chiefs confirming the Premier League fixture schedule for the campaign on Wednesday morning, several games are set to be moved due to the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League.
Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City, Chelsea, Newcastle and Tottenham will take part in Europe’s premier competition, while Aston Villa and Crystal Palace will take part in the second tier competition, and Nottingham Forest will play in the Conference League.
The league has confirmed that fixtures could be moved at “relatively short notice”, with an “increased likelihood” that games will be rescheduled if English teams advance in their respective European competitions.
“While the Premier League celebrates this success, it will come with an impact on the scheduling of league matches,” the Premier League said in a statement.
“There is an increased likelihood of Premier League fixtures moving at relatively short notice, after our fixture announcements, should our clubs progress to the knockout rounds of these competitions.”

Which Premier League Fixtures Could Be Moved?
It’s hard to say which Premier League fixtures could be moved due to the Champions League, as the competition has two matchday slots on Tuesday and Wednesday.
With matches taking place on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, it may not affect the Saturday 15:00 slots, however they can influence the dates for which Sky Sports or TNT Sports select them for coverage.
For example, a team playing in the Champions League on a Tuesday cannot play on the preceding Sunday in the Premier League.

Which Premier League Fixtures Could Be Moved?
As for fixtures that could be rescheduled in the Europa League, it looks as though all of the matches listed below will have to be moved.
This is due to the fact that all Europa League fixtures are played on a Thursday evening, and Premier League clubs participating in the competition cannot play on the following Saturday.

Similarly to the Europa League, all Conference League league phase matches are played on a Thursday night.
This means that Nottingham Forest, England’s sole representative in the competition, are unable to play in the Premier League on the Saturday that follows their fixtures in Europe.
