As stated above, Flamengo from Brazil is the most popular non-European club on social media. As per the data, the hugely popular Brazilian club has a combined following of 66.4m on X, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube.
Saudi club Al-Nassr are in the second spot with a combined 62m followers. This also makes the Saudi club the most popular in Asian football. Al-Nassr’s popularity can be attributed to superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, who joined the club in 2023.
Egyptian giants Al-Ahly are next with a combined following of 57.7m followers on their social media accounts. Thus, Al-Ahly bag the honour of being the most popular African club on social media.
The next spot is occupied by another Brazilian giant, Corinthians, who boast of a combined 41.6m followers on their social media. Inter Miami completes the top five on our list with a total of 38.4m followers. The MLS side has become the most popular North American club on social media during its rather short history. The popularity of the US-based club can very much be attributed to the presence of Lionel Messi.
Al Hilal are the second Saudi club to make the list with 37.7m followers. Persib Bandung from Indonesia are next on the list of most popular non-European football clubs. Persib are the current Indonesian champions and have a combined following of 33.1m followers on their social channels.
CF America from Mexico are eighth on the list with 30.3m followers. Argentinean giants and arch-rivals Boca Juniors and River Plate occupy the next two spots. Boca Juniors slightly edged the competition with 30.3m followers, but River Plate was not far behind with 29.6m followers.
