The SPL Champions have unleashed a new third strip to their supporters this week, but the response they got wasn’t the one they hoped for. The Celtic new third kit is a design that is paying tribute to their Irish roots – however, the light green design on a white background has received plenty of backlash on social media – with some saying – “It’s F***ing Horrible” and others suggesting “It Looks Like It’s Inside Out” and“It’s Like The Printer Ran Out of Ink”
New Celtic Third Kit Paying Tribute To Their Irish Roots
The new SPL season gets going on August 2nd, which gives Bhoys fans a month to get used to the new Celtic third kit, which is by German sportswear giant Adidas
However, judging by the social media reaction, their supporters might need a bit longer to get their heads around their updated third strip.
It seems the thinking behind this latest Celtic kit to hit the shops, is giving a nod to their Irish heritage and paying tribute to the Irish tricolour flag.
With the Scottish club founded in 1888, they’ve got over 135 years of history to fall back on – including a huge following in Ireland.
This is not the first time Celtic have delved back to their Irish roots – the club had a tracksuit top that showcased the tricolour on the collar in the 2010’s.
Plus, their 2018/19 away strip was also pointing back to their Irish origins – with a Celtic cross replacing the famous badge.

Bhoys Fans React To New Celtic Third Kit “Up There With The Current Bayern Shirt, As The Worst This Year”
Some Hoops fans will say the back of the new Celtic third kit is okay – as it’s pretty much plain white.
However, turn it around and the front of their new third strip is getting plenty of backlash from fans on social media.
Priced at £75 or £120 for the ‘authentic’ version the latest Celtic kit is seemingly not a hit with the bulk of supporters.

Other Social Media Posts From Angry Celtic Fans Said
- “Seriously, these ludicrous shirts shouldn’t be allowed by the Scottish FA”
- “Adidas never fail to disappoint”
- “Does someone on the Adidas team hate Celtic”
- “It looks inside out”
- “It’s like the printer ran out of ink”
In addition to the top, the shorts are lime green with a white and orange trim – and these are on sale for £28 or £45 of the ‘authentic’ version.
The socks are also lime green and priced at £20.
With online betting firm Dafabet still the main shirt sponsor.
The good news for fans of the SPL Champions is that his is only the Celtic third kit – so it’s unlikely to be seen on the pitch that much.
And after the backlash the new third strip has had – they might have a job-lot to sale at a reduced price come Christmas. We’ll see.
