Harvey Elliott liverpool

Former Premier League man Jamie O’Hara has advised Tottenham Hotspur to sign Liverpool star and top Brighton & Hove Albion target, Harvey Elliott, this summer.

O’Hara believes new Tottenham boss Thomas Frank would benefit from Elliott’s versatility.

Although Spurs’ interest is unconfirmed, this does not bode well for Brighton. The Seagulls have long been chasing the two-time U21 Euros champion. They are reportedly prepared to pay a club-record £40 million for his services.

Brighton Pushing to Sign Liverpool & England U21 Star Harvey Elliott

Harvey Elliott did not see much game time in the 2024/25 season as Liverpool won the Premier League. Elliott featured in only 18 of the 30 games he made the squad for, starting just 2 of them. In the English top flight, Elliott clocked just 360 minutes across the season, scoring once.

In March, he expressed frustration over his lack of minutes.

I’ve played nearly 150 games for Liverpool and I feel like I’m very experienced in terms of that aspect,” he said (via ThisIsAnfield)

There are moments within the season when I am getting angry and frustrated because I want to play.”

Since his little outburst, speculation has been mounting about his future at Liverpool. According to reports, Elliott has no shortage of suitors, but Brighton are currently leading the pack.

As per former Manchester United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, the Seagulls want to bring Elliott to ensure they “don’t start to slip backwards.” He also claimed that Liverpool wanted around £40 million for Elliott, and Brighton were ready to comply.

Jamie O’Hara Backs Tottenham to Hijack Harvey Elliott Transfer

Former Tottenham Hotspur player Jamie O’Hara has hailed Harvey Elliott’s versatility, advising Spurs to make a move.

Speaking on talkSPORT, O’Hara explained why Tottenham should pursue a transfer for Elliott:

I would have him at Tottenham.

He plays on the right, he can compete with Brennan Johnson. Kulusevski is a similar player, but Harvey Elliott has got something about him – he can play as a 10, he can play different areas, he can play midfield.”

Joining from Fulham U18 in 2019, Elliott rose through the ranks at Liverpool before making the senior squad in 2021. He has since played 147 games in all competitions, scoring 15 goals and providing 21 assists.

Harvey Elliott Was England’s Hero in the U21 Euros

After struggling for minutes at Liverpool, Harvey Elliott made himself available for the Euro U21 in June. England captained the 22-year-old, and Elliott emerged as the star of the tournament. He started his journey with a goal in a 3-1 win over Czechia U21 on Matchday 1. Elliott scored in the quarter-finals as England beat Spain 3-1. In the semi-finals, he scored a brace in a 2-1 victory over the Netherlands. After his heroics in the final four, he thanked Liverpool teammates Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk.

Elliott brought his best to the finals as well, as England improved their head-to-head record against Germany U21. He scored the opening goal in the fifth minute in a hard-fought 3-2 win over the Germans. Elliott deservedly took home the Player of the Tournament award as the Young Lions claimed their second consecutive Euro championship.
