Liverpool could swoop for wantaway Feyenoord defender David Hancko this summer if they are unable to finalise a deal for Crystal Palace star Marc Guehi.
Liverpool Identify David Hancko as Marc Guehi Alternative
Wantaway Feyenoord defender David Hancko has emerged as a potential target for Liverpool.
The Reds are enjoying what is their best transfer window in recent memory, having already acquired the services of Florian Wirtz, Milos Kerkez and Jeremie Frimpong.
According to reports, they are now looking to add a central defender to that list.
It comes following Jarell Quansah’s £35m departure for Bundesliga giants Bayer Leverkusen.

Crystal Palace and England star Marc Guehi is their number one target, with insiders claiming that Anfield chiefs have struck an agreement with his representatives over personal terms.
Guehi has one year remaining on his contract at Selhurst Park, and Palace risk losing him on a free transfer if they do not sell this summer.
The Eagles value their captain at around £50m. Liverpool, however, are considering a player-plus-cash deal for the 24-year-old, with the South Londoners interested in Ben Doak.
If Arne Slot’s side are unable to strike an agreement with Palace, they may turn their attention elsewhere. Hancko, whom Slot previously worked with at Feyenoord, is seen as an alternative.
The Slovakia international has been linked with a move to Merseyside in the past, while Tottenham, Chelsea, Manchester United and Newcastle have also held a previous interest.
It has been reported that the 27-year-old is keen to leave De Kuip in favour of a new challenge. Additionally, the Eredivisie outfit believe that they can secure a club-record fee for his exit.
His current contract runs until June 2028.
Slot’s ties to Feyenoord, as well as his new assistant Giovanni van Bronckhorst, who was also the club’s manager between 2015 and 2019, could provide the Reds with a boost in negotiations.
Hancko Linked With Juventus and Al-Nassr
While Liverpool continue to chase top target Guehi, they could lose out on Hancko.
Juve tried signing the defender in January but failed as Feyenoord refused to budge on their €40m asking price. In turn, the Turin-based outfit have cooled their interest in signing him.
Despite this, several Italian media outlets claim that Hancko is still holding out for a move to the Serie A giants, while there is also interest from the Saudi Pro League.
While Juventus is his preferred destination, the financial allure of Saudi Arabia remains.
Al-Nassr, who have just handed Cristiano Ronaldo a new contract extension, are believed to be the interested party from the developing Middle Eastern league.
The Saudi top-flight runners-up reportedly made a bid of around €32m plus €4m in bonuses for Hancko last month, but the Rotterdammers rejected as they want €40m to sell.
Talks between the two clubs have quietened, mainly due to the structural changes at Al-Nassr with Stefano Pioli leaving, but negotiations are expected to resume soon.
In other Liverpool transfer news, Tottenham have been urged to sign Harvey Elliott this summer, while Darwin Nunez has been linked with a move to Napoli.
The Reds are also expected to return to the market for a new striker, with reported interest in Alexander Isak, Hugo Ekitike and Victor Osimhen. This likely hinges on Nunez’s exit, though.
Unsurprising, given their impressive signings thus far, the UK’s best football betting sites have the reigning champions as favourites to retain the Premier League title next term.
