Newcastle United may be forced to go all-in on signing long-term target Jarrod Bowen as star striker Alexander Isak appears to be heading for the exit.
This week, it emerged that Magpies talisman Alexander Isak did not travel with the squad for their pre-season tour.
The Swedish international trained alone on Tuesday, with speculation over his future continuing to grow.
Isak scored 23 Premier League goals last term in a stellar season.
But having attracted interest from a number of clubs, including champions Liverpool, it seems the 25-year-old could depart this summer.
And according to the latest reports, Isak has informed Newcastle of his desire to explore a move away.
As a result, Eddie Howe is reportedly keen to re-enter negotiations for a player he has admired for a long time.

Jarrod Bowen Newcastle Interest Resurfaces
West Ham forward Jarrod Bowen has been on Newcastle’s radar for years.
In 2020, former Newcastle boss Steve Bruce nearly signed Bowen, with a deal falling through late into negotiations.
Current manager Eddie Howe is also a big admirer and sees Bowen as a potential forward solution if Isak departs.
But in the current landscape, Newcastle would need to make a gargantuan offer for West Ham, or indeed Bowen, to entertain it.
Bowen has recently signed a long-term contract extension with the London club.

The 28-year-old is settled with the Irons and has expressed a desire to retire at the club.
Already a fan favourite, club legend status awaits should he choose that option.
West Ham also have no desire to sell, meaning Newcastle would need to offer a fee potentially in excess of £100 million to have any hope of signing Bowen.
But should Isak leave, the Magpies will have no shortage of cash.
And with West Ham struggling and Newcastle competing in Europe, could the allure of possible Champions League football tempt Bowen to St James’ Park?
Alexander Isak Latest Could Force Newcastle’s Hand
Whether or not Jarrod Bowen is a realistic possibility for Newcastle, they will likely have to act.
If Alexander Isak does depart, they will need to replace a consistent, 20-goal-a-season forward.
Those players do not come cheap. And finding one able to deliver consistently in the Premier League can be the difference between a fantastic season and total disaster.
For that reason, Newcastle must act quickly and decisively, as well as likely paying a hefty fee.
Should a move for Bowen not materialise, Brentford’s Yoane Wissa has already been tipped to join.

Newcastle are firm favourites to be the Congolese international’s next club, with UK betting sites putting the Magpies at Evens to be Wissa’s next club.
Other options for Eddie Howe include PSG’s Randal Kolo Muani, and Monaco striker Mika Biereth.
