Premier League duo Arsenal and Newcastle face off in a pre-season friendly in Singapore on Sunday, and our betting tips for the game can be backed in a 4/1 treble.
Arsenal’s pre-season tour continues in Singapore on Sunday, as they face off against fellow English top-flight outfit Newcastle United at the National Stadium in Kallang.
Both sides have played one friendly match apiece thus far this summer.
The Gunners claimed a 1-0 triumph over Serie A giants AC Milan in their opening practice match. Despite the victory, due to a pre-agreed arrangement, the fixture went to a penalty shootout to test each team’s best penalty takers. Milan prevailed 6-5 in the shootout.
Eddie Howe’s Magpies, meanwhile, faced Scottish champions Celtic in their opener. Despite a large chunk of regular starters playing, they were battered 4-0 in Glasgow.
While both sides are expected to rotate their lineups in the first half and second half, star players such as Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice, Bruno Guimaraes and Sandro Tonali should be involved.
There’ll be no involvement for Alexander Isak though, with Newcastle ready to go all in for Jarrod Bowen after the Swede expressed his desire to explore a move away from St. James’ Park.
Viktor Gyokeres, who is expected to be announced as a new Arsenal player imminently, could make his debut. Cristhian Mosquera may also make his maiden appearance for the Gunners.
Mikel Arteta’s men are favoured pre-match, with betting sites pricing them at 8/15 to prevail.
Arsenal vs Newcastle Betting Tips
- Arsenal Half Time/Full Time @ 5/4
- Over 2.5 Goals @ 3/5
- Bukayo Saka to Score at Any Time @ 11/8
Arsenal Half Time/Full Time @ 5/4
Newcastle are without their star man in Singapore, and given the result in their one and only pre-season outing thus far, it could be a long afternoon for Anthony Gordon and co. on Sunday.
Not only are they without Isak, but they have made only minimal additions to their squad.
Yes, they have signed Anthony Elanga from Nottingham Forest, a strong signing no doubt, but they haven’t secured any upgrades in terms of defensive and midfield personnel.
The Gunners, meanwhile, have strengthened by signing Martin Zubimendi, Noni Madueke, Christian Norgaard, Kepa Arrizabalaga, Mosquera and will soon have a striker in Gyokeres.
Of course, it’s pre-season, so anything can happen, but when considering the above, we think it only makes sense to tip Arsenal. We at SportsCasting are backing them to lead at half time and full time, with bookmakers offering a price of 5/4 for the feat to be achieved.
Over 2.5 Goals @ 3/5
Not only are we expecting the North Londoners to win, but we’re also expecting goals.
The Magpies shipped four goals against Celtic, as mentioned already, and the Gunners may have one of the world’s deadliest strikers at their disposal for the fixture.
Even if Gyokeres’ move from Sporting doesn’t go through in time, the likes of Saka, Kai Havertz, Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli can cause plenty of problems for Newcastle.
Back over 2.5 goals to be scored at the National Stadium at around 3/5.
Bukayo Saka to Score at Any Time @ 11/8
Saka starred in the Gunners’ pre-season opener against Milan by netting his side’s sole goal.
It comes off the back of a decent 2024/25 campaign, in which he was sidelined through injury for several months, as he registered 12 goals and 13 assists in 37 games across all competitions.
Upon his return from injury, he impressed for the North Londoners. His most notable performances came in the Champions League against Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain, having netted against both despite his side’s semi-final defeat against the latter.
We’re backing the Hale End academy graduate to score in back-to-back outings at 11/8.
