Bookmakers favour Liverpool and Tottenham defenders Andy Robertson and Cristian Romero to join LaLiga side Atletico Madrid this summer.
Atletico Madrid Favoured To Land Andy Robertson and Cristian Romero
Premier League duo Andy Robertson and Cristian Romero are favoured to join Atletico Madrid this summer, according to the pair’s latest transfer odds.
Both players were linked with moves to the Spanish capital earlier in the window.
While transfer talks in the media have quietened, the LaLiga outfit remain the clear favourites to sign the defensive pairing ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
Robertson’s starting berth at Liverpool is under threat following the £40m arrival of Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth, so his long-term future at Anfield is unclear.
The Scotsman’s contract is due to expire next summer. In order to avoid allowing him to leave on a free transfer, it has been suggested that the Reds are open to offers for the left-back.
Last month, it was reported that the 31-year-old had ‘agreed’ to join Atleti.
Things have gone somewhat quiet on that front since, however, but UK betting sites still have the Spanish giants odds-on at 1/3 to complete a move for the two-time Premier League winner.
Romero, meanwhile, has emerged as a top transfer target for Atletico, with Diego Simeone incredibly keen to land the Argentina international amid a rebuild at the Metropolitano.
Like Robertson’s proposed move to the Spanish top-flight, talks of the 27-year-old’s exit have lulled in recent weeks, with some reports suggesting that he’s set to remain in North London.
Additionally, the central defender has been tipped to become Spurs’ new captain under Thomas Frank, with current skipper Heung-min Son odds-on to make a move to the MLS this summer.
Despite this, Atleti are rated as 8/11 favourites to land Romero this summer.

Atletico’s archrivals Real Madrid are the second favourites to sign Romero, meanwhile, priced at 5/1, with Los Blancos reportedly on the hunt for a new central defender ahead of next season.

Serie A pairing Inter Milan and Napoli follow in the market at 20/1 and 33/1, respectively.
As previously mentioned, recent reports suggest that the pair may stay put at their respective clubs. Nothing is set in stone, however, but the aforementioned clubs will have to act fast if they want to complete any deals, with the new season set to start in around two weeks’ time.
Liverpool kickstart their Premier League campaign on Friday, 15 August, at home against Bournemouth, while Spurs host newly promoted Burnley on Saturday, 16 August.
