With that in mind, and with many managers already selecting their teams – we look at the most selected £4.0m to £4.5m budget goalkeepers that will either act as solid back-ups to a main stopper, or free-up much needed cash for other positions if opting for a cheaper number one between the sticks.

Is Brentford’s Caoimhín Kelleher One Of The Best Budget FPL Goalkeepers This Season?

Fantasy Football managers are a shrewd bunch, and it seems the bargain hunter class of 2025/26 have already sniffed out one of the FPL budget goalkeepers this season.

Step forward Brentford’s Caoimhin Kelleher with FPL fans already ‘buzzing’ around this Bee at a potentially cheap £4.5m.

With a massive 32.2% of managers already selecting Kelleher – which is the most of any keeper at this time.

Why?

Well, Brentford have been active in the transfer market this summer – not so much in terms of getting players in – but losing some key names.

Of course, Bryan Mbeumo was the big name to leave the Gtech Community Stadium this summer – Brentford also lost Flekken to Leverkusen.

With no replacement expected, this has led to a lot managers looking at the FPL 2025/26 previews and thinking that Caoimhin Kelleher will now get the main role between the sticks at Brentford.

Kelleher is priced well too at £4.5m – so he ticks the ‘second keeper’ squad man, plus will also be the pick for many looking for a bargain keeper that frees up more cash for outfield players.

The Bees also have keepers Balcombe, Valdimarsson, Cox and Eyestone – but this quartet are all priced lower (£4m) than Kelleher to suggest the Irishman will be their main man in goal.

Brentford’s first league game will be away against Nottingham Forest on Sunday 17th August, with the football betting sites making them 5/2 to win the game.

Martin Dúbravka Already Selected By 11.4% Of FPL Managers

Martin Dúbravka
Martin Dúbravka Could Be Another FPL ‘Cheap Keeper’

The next FPL budget goalkeeper that many already have on their radars is Newcastle’s Martin Dúbravka – with 11.5% of managers currently having the Slovakian in their teams.

He’s priced at just £4.0m too, so is another that falls into the ‘cheap keeper’ bracket – but many will be saying – he’s not going to get in the team above Nick Pope.

However, the reason for over 10% of managers getting Dúbravka in now at just £4.0m is there are rumours of a move to recently promoted Burnley.

If he does make the switch then he’d be competing with Hladky, Green and Weiss at Burnley – but many feel if they do make a move for Dúbravka he’ll be their instant number one.

This could then lead to a slight FPL price increase, with this current £4.0m price looking a steal.

Which is why 11.4% of managers have already secured the services of Dúbravka in their squads.
