Chelsea star Cole Palmer has urged managers to select him in FPL ‘if they want points’ despite his ‘dear’ £10.5m price tag ahead of Friday’s Gameweek 1 deadline.

Cole Palmer Urges Managers To Select Him In FPL

With managers still chopping and changing their Fantasy Premier League (FPL) teams ahead of the new campaign, Chelsea star Cole Palmer has urged players to include him in their squads.

Palmer ended last season with 15 goals and nine assists in 37 English top-flight appearances, tallying the third-most FPL points of any player in the division with 214.

Only Mohamed Salah (344) and Bryan Mbeumo (236) earned more.

This has seen his price rise in the game ahead of the 2025-26 campaign, with the Conference League and Club World Cup winner’s starting price point sitting at a costly £10.5m.

That puts him as the joint-third most expensive player in the game alongside Alexander Isak, behind only Salah (£14.5m) and Erling Haaland (£14.0m), while he is ahead of the likes of Bukayo Saka (£10.0m), Bruno Fernandes (£9.0m), Viktor Gyokeres (£9.0m) and many more.

Fans are expecting big things from Palmer this term, with Enzo Maresca’s side potentially looking to mount a title challenge, and UK betting sites have the 23-year-old as the third favourite to win the PFA Player of the Year award at a price of around 8/1.

Cole Palmer Dubs £10.5m FPL Price Tag ‘Dear’

Asked for his thoughts on his £10.5m price tag in FPL, Palmer responded: “Bit dear.”

Then, asked whether managers should include him in their teams ahead of Friday’s Gameweek 1 deadline, the England international confidently said: “If they want points.”

Palmer Leads Way As Most Owned FPL Player

Fans have seemingly been taking note of the attacking midfielder’s confidence ahead of the new campaign, as Palmer surpassed Salah as the most owned player in FPL earlier this week.

The Manchester City academy graduate is owned by close to 60% of players, currently at 59.8%.

Salah’s ownership percentage, meanwhile, has dropped to 53.2% following an underwhelming performance in Liverpool’s Community Shield defeat to Crystal Palace last Sunday.

Not only is Palmer owned by more players than Salah, but so is his Blues teammate Joao Pedro.

The Brazilian joined the West London outfit from Brighton this summer in a deal worth a reported £60m. He has netted five goals in his first five games for the club.

Priced at £7.5m, Pedro features in 55.1% of FPL teams at the time of writing, with his ownership percentage increasing daily as managers look to finalise their squads ahead of Gameweek 1.

Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong and Gyokeres are also among the most owned players in FPL.

The season gets underway with Liverpool hosting Bournemouth on Friday evening, while Palmer and co. are in action for Chelsea vs Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.
