We asked AI for its Premier League predictions ahead of week two of the new domestic season, with some interesting results.
The Premier League returned with a bang last week, as two of the three promoted sides earned shock victories.
Leeds United overcame Everton 1-0 at Elland Road thanks to a dubious penalty for handball.
And Sunderland thrashed West Ham 3-0 at the Stadium of Light in an emphatic victory.
Champions Liverpool left it late to beat Bournemouth, while a much-improved Manchester United were edged out 1-0 by Arsenal.
But looking ahead to week two of the season, there are just as many juicy encounters.
London rivals West Ham and Chelsea face off, while Manchester City host perennial bogey team Tottenham.
But perhaps the pick of the games is Newcastle Vs Liverpool. The transfer saga over Newcastle striker Alexander Isak and Liverpool beating the Magpies to Hugo Ekitike has added an extra layer of spice to an already compelling matchup.
Liverpool are the favourites for that one, with UK betting sites pricing them around 21/20, and Newcastle at 5/2.
But ahead of the action, we have asked AI for its predictions for each of the weekend’s 10 Premier League fixtures.

West Ham: Jarrod Bowen 55′

2. Manchester City vs Tottenham — 3–1
Goalscorers:
City: Erling Haaland 22′, 83′, Omar Marmoush 57′
Spurs: Richarlison 65′
Prediction: As anticipated by experts, City dominate at home with their attacking excellence, while Richarlison gets one back for Spurs.
Their high line and recent defensive gaps are exploited by City’s precision and personnel.
3. AFC Bournemouth vs Wolves — 2–0
Goalscorers:
Bournemouth: Evanilson 33′, David Brooks 76′
Prediction: Bournemouth exploit Wolves’ defensive fragilities, with Evanilson opening the scoring and midfielder Brooks adding control later.
Wolves struggle to create meaningful chances, continuing their poor away form.
4. Brentford vs Aston Villa — 1–1
Goalscorers:
Brentford: Fabio Carvalho 41′
Villa: Ollie Watkins 79′
Prediction: A tight, tactical encounter sees both sides cancel each other out with limit attacking fluency.
Brentford take the lead before Villa level through Watkins in a scrappy second half.
5. Burnley vs Sunderland — 1–1
Goalscorers:
Burnley: Marcus Edwards 68′
Sunderland: Diarra 85′
Prediction: A cagey first half gives way to more urgency as Burnley strike post-interval, only for Sunderland to snatch a late equaliser.
Sunderland’s energy keeps them competitive through game close.
6. Arsenal vs Leeds United — 3–0
Goalscorers:
Arsenal: Bukayo Saka 12′, Declan Rice 39′, Gabriel Martinelli 71′
Predeiction: Arsenal’s dominance shines through as they expose Leeds’ fragile defence across the pitch.
Saka and Rice capitalise before Martinelli seals a commanding win.
7. Crystal Palace vs Nottingham Forest — 1–2
Goalscorers:
Forest: Callum Hudson-Odoi 29′, Chris Wood 77′
Palace: Ismaila Sarr 52′
Prediction: A back-and-forth battle where Forest’s attacking edge prevails.
Sarr responds for Palace, but Palace’s defensive stability fails under Forest’s high pressing and clinical finish.
8. Everton vs Brighton — 1–2
Goalscorers:
Brighton: Matt O’Riley 25′, Georginio Rutter 69′
Everton: James Tarkowski 82′
Prediction: Brighton’s possession play punishes an Everton side still adjusting under Moyes.
Tarkowski offers a consolation late, but the Seagulls’ resilience on the road wins out.
9. Fulham vs Manchester United — 0–2
Goalscorers:
United: Matheus Cunha 58′, Bryan Mbeumo 88′
Prediction: United’s transitional power overwhelms Fulham through the middle, with Cunha breaking the deadlock and Mbeumo sealing it late.
Fulham struggle to match United’s tempo and discipline.
10. Newcastle United vs Liverpool — 1–1
Goalscorers:
Newcastle: Anthony Gordon 34′
Liverpool: Mohamed Salah 73′
Prediction: An intense fixture sees Gordon open the scoring before Liverpool’s Salah levels up.
