West Ham United captain Jarrod Bowen clashed with fans after his team crashed out of the EFL Cup following a defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Bowen’s teammates intervened and kept the Englishman from escalating the situation.
The defeat at Molineux Stadium extended the Hammers’ disastrous start to the season. They have now lost all three of the matches they have played in 2025/26, scoring three goals and conceding 11.
West Ham are away to Nottingham Forest this weekend, and Forest are 8/11 favourites with football betting sites to win the Premier League encounter.
West Ham United Exit EFL Cup After Defeat to Wolves
On the back of a humbling 5-1 defeat to Chelsea, West Ham travelled to Molineux for their EFL Cup Round 2 clash with Wolverhampton Wanderers. Wolves struck first in the 43rd minute, with Rodrigo Gomes converting following Hee-Chan Hwang missed his penalty.
West Ham restored parity five minutes into the second half, with Kyle Walker-Peters setting up Tomas Soucek. In the 63rd minute, Graham Potter’s side took the lead, courtesy of a fine strike by Lucas Paqueta.
FT. Wolves 3 West Ham 2
This is a side who cannot cope with any pressure. We deserved to go 2-1 up but we deserved to lose in the end because Wolves had a spark, determination and the fight that West Ham simply do not.

The London side seemed destined to hold on until Jorgen Strand Larsen turned the game on its head in the last 10 minutes. The Newcastle United-linked forward scored the equaliser in the 82nd minute before netting the winner in the 84th. With West Ham suffering three consecutive defeats, Potter’s reign is under threat, with betting odds backing Brendan Rodgers to take over.
