Manchester United Senne Lammens

Manchester United have agreed a fee with Royal Antwerp for Belgian international goalkeeper Senne Lammens.

Ruben Amorim may finally have solved his goalkeeping issue, with United set to land a new shot-stopper on deadline day.

According to reports, a full agreement has been reached between the Red Devils and Belgian club Royal Antwerp.

Manchester United To Sign Senne Lammens

As reported by The Athletic, United and Royal Antwerp have agreed on a deal worth an initial €21m (£18m), plus add-ons.

No sell-on clause has been inserted into the transfer, with 23-year-old Lammens to sign a five-year deal.

Who Is Incoming Manchester United Keeper Senne Lammens?

Former Club Brugge youth product Senne Lammens started his career there, before joining Antwerp two seasons ago.

A highly-rated prospect, he moved to gain more playing time after finding himself stuck behind ex-Liverpool keeper Simon Mignolet at Brugge.

Lammens is viewed in Belgium as the long-term successor to Thibaut Courtois, and is known for his calm demeanour and reassuring presence at the back.

Comfortable with the ball at his feet, he has shown immense potential in his short career.

As for areas to improve, accuracy and consistency have been mentioned.

Like any young keeper, Lammens does have the odd mistake in him. But he has so far proved himself able to shake off any errors and not let them affect his game further.

Is Andre Onana Leaving Man United?

With a top-rated young keeper joining, many will be expecting current number one Andre Onana to depart.

The Cameroonian keeper has struggled throughout his time at Old Trafford.

He has been blighted by a series of high-profile errors and costly mistakes leading to goals.

Andre Onana’s Manchester United career could soon be over.

And having been judged by many to be at fault for both goals as United lost on penalties to fourth-tier Grimsby Town in the EFL Cup, few expected him to keep his place.

United’s backup keeper Altay Bayındır has also looked shaky at times.

But now that a new man is being brought in, it seems Onana’s days are numbered.

As for where he may end up, West Ham have been touted as a possible destination.

But as it stands, a move to any Saudi Club remains the favourite option with football betting sites.

What Senne Lammens Man United Move Means For Emi Martinez

Over the weekend, reports emerged that Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez was pushing to join United.

The Argentine World Cup winner has allegedly fallen out with Villa boss Unai Emery.

Emiliano Martinez looks set to miss out on his dream move to Manchester United.

Discussing Martinez’s absence from Villa’s squad at the weekend, Emery said: “We need players who are focused, 100%. He wasn’t.

“It’s not helping us. It’s one of the circumstances that we are having now not helping.”

But with United now set to sign Lammens, it seems Martinez won’t be getting the move he was banking on.

Instead, Saudi clubs are once again circling for a want-away Premier League star.

However, Martinez is thought to prefer to remain in Europe.

As it stands, Turkish club Galatasaray are now leading the race and are favourites to sign the keeper.
