Former Ranger Boss Philippe Clement Favourite For Norwich Job

Philippe Clement

Philippe Clement leads the market at 1/2, with the Belgian emerging as Norwich’s top target following Liam Manning’s exit. Most recently in charge of Rangers before being sacked earlier this year, Clement’s reputation remains strong thanks to a managerial career built on success, professionalism, and a clear, modern footballing philosophy.

Despite his departure from Ibrox, Clement’s stock has not taken a significant hit — his ability to steady squads, instil tactical discipline, and demand high performance levels makes him an appealing fit for a Norwich side in need of renewed direction. His track record of winning titles in Belgium and guiding teams through transitional phases adds further weight to his candidacy.

Known for his calm authority and methodical approach, Clement would bring structure, resilience, and a winning mentality to Carrow Road. The question for Norwich’s hierarchy is whether they can persuade him that a Championship rebuild represents the right platform for the next stage of his managerial journey.

Polish Coach Marek Papszun Among Contenders To Take Over At Carrow Road

Marek Papszun

Marek Papszun is one of the standout names linked with the Norwich vacancy. The 51-year-old Polish manager is best known for his highly successful spell at Raków Częstochowa, where he oversaw one of the most impressive rises in Polish football. Under his leadership, Raków won promotion to the top flight, secured back-to-back Polish Cups, and went on to win the Ekstraklasa title in 2023 — the first in the club’s history.

Papszun’s achievements were recognised nationally, and he was named Polish Coach of the Year for four consecutive seasons from 2020 to 2023, reflecting the consistency and scale of the work he delivered at Raków.

He left the club at the end of the 2022/23 season after seven years in charge, during which he also led Raków into European competition for the first time. His reputation in Poland is built on strong organisation, clear planning, and the ability to improve players and teams over an extended period.

Although he has never managed outside his home country, Papszun has been linked with several roles abroad since leaving Raków. For Norwich, he represents a coach with a proven record of long-term success, but it would also mark a significant step as he enters English football for the first time.

The traders at SportsCasting make the highly successful Pole the 5/1 second favourite.

Michael Carrick Under Consideration For Canaries

West Ham Manager
Michael Carrick

Former Middlesbrough manager Michael Carrick is regarded as one of the brightest young coaching talents in the country.

Known for his possession-based style and modern approach to management, Carrick earned widespread praise during his time at Boro, particularly in his first season when they came close to promotion.

Norwich owners are understood to admire his work. Being a free agent, he may be an attractive target.

Oddsmakers have him at 7/1 third favourite, though the Canaries may need to move quickly, as Carrick is also a prominent name in the Leicester manager betting market.

Commentary: SportsCasting spokesman Shane Orton reacted to the ‘Next Norwich Manager Betting Odds’ saying:

“Following Liam Manning’s dismissal, Norwich City find themselves at a crucial crossroads. Performances and results have fallen well below expectations, making the next managerial appointment pivotal in getting the club back on course.”

“Philippe Clement leads the betting at 1/2, with the former Rangers manager viewed as the frontrunner to take charge at Carrow Road. Marek Papszun is the 5/1 second favourite, and his title-winning spell at Raków Częstochowa has ensured he remains a strong contender. Michael Carrick sits third in the market at 7/1, with the former Middlesbrough boss still held in high regard after his impressive early work at the Riverside before departing the club earlier this year.”
