Kieron Conway vs George Liddard Betting Tips

  • George Liddard WIN @ 4/5
  • George Liddard WIN via Unanimous Decision @ 12/5

When it comes to betting tips for the Kieron Conway vs George Liddard fight this weekend in London, there is certainly money to be made judging by the latest odds.

This is because price-setters have found it difficult to split the pair in their latest odds. In fact, boxing betting sites have this a near 50/50 with Liddard just the marginal favourite.

Despite being the reigning and defending British and Commonwealth champion, Conway is the light underdog at odds of EVS to win the fight outright.

Neither man is seen as a destructive puncher, but Liddard does have the same amount of knockouts as Conway. The only difference is he’s fought 14 times less, including the power advantage lies with the 23-year-old.

Daniel Dubois left trainer Don Charles to team up with Tony Sims, but this weekend it’s all about Liddard who could well be the future of the Matchroom stable.

This is a great fight and one both men will see as winnable. Conway is a talent and a bonafide British level middleweight, but we feel Liddard has the attributes to go all the way in the sport.

With that in mind, here at SportsCasting we backing the 12-0 challenger to come away victorious and hand ‘Too Class’ a fourth career defeat.

George Liddard to WIN @ 4/5

Without stating the glaringly obvious, this fight is going to go one of two ways.

Either it ‘s too much too soon for George Liddard, or else he is the real deal and will perhaps even make light work of Kieron Conway.

Either way, Liddard is stepping up numerous levels here to face ‘Too Class’. Conway is as tough as they come and a quality fighter in his own right, but we see somewhat of a masterclass coming from Liddard.

The Essex man has secured seven knockouts in his 12 fights to date, only going 10 rounds once. With this being his first 12-rounder, there could be some question marks over Liddard’s tank.

However, here at SportsCasting we feel that Friday night will be a coming of age for George Liddard, who will claim the biggest victory of his career and defeat Kieron Conway.

Given the odds on either man to win the fight outright are fairly generous, taking Liddard to win the fight at odds of 4/5 with boxing betting sites.

George Liddard to WIN via Unanimous Decision @ 12/5

Diving a little deeper into a prediction of George Liddard to win Friday’s British and Commonwealth Middleweight Title fight, selecting a specific method of victory will further enhance your odds.

With seven knockouts in his 12 pro fights, Liddard has a 58% knockout rate. Conway has around a 30% knockout rate, so the power advantage almost certainly lies with the 23-year-old.

However, Conway has never been stopped in any of this three defeats, and we can’t see him getting stopped at York Hall on Friday night either.

Backing Liddard to win via decision is priced at odds of 6/4, but we feel he could go one better and win convincingly via unanimous decision.

At odds of 12/5 for the outcome, backing George Liddard to beat Kieron Conway via unanimous decision is our most lucrative betting tip for this weekend’s boxing on UK shores.

Kieron Conway vs George Liddard Preview

All eyes are on the famous York Hall this weekend as the British and Commonwealth Middleweight Titles are on the line in a real 50/50 clash between Kieron Conway and George Liddard.

Although he’s just 29-years-old, Conway is the veteran here and has all the experience behind him. He has fought for the British Title in two weight classes, winning it at the second time of asking up at 160-pounds.

His only three defeats have been to Derrick Osaze over three rounds, Souleymane Cissokho and of course Austin Williams. In his three defeats, Conway has never been stopped and never been on the verge of losing via knockout either.

In the opposite corner you have the young, hungry, flashy and hugely talented Liddard. With a perfect record of 12-0 as a professional, there is a serious amount of hype around the middleweight prospect.

Liddard has a win over Osaze over 10 rounds, so may feel he is levels above ‘Too Class’. However, this is by far the toughest test of his career and will be a tough night’s work for sure.

The 23-year-old trains alongside the likes of Conor Benn, Daniel Dubois and Joe Cordina day in, day out. He is surrounded by world class fighters everyday, which may indicate just how high Liddard’s ceiling is too.

Conor Benn’s record is 23-1 right now as Tony Sim’s standout fighter, but Liddard could well be the next one to add the Lonsdale Belt to the list of accolades of fighters training out of the Matchroom Elite Gym.

Kieron Conway vs George Liddard promises to be a cracker for the coveted British Middleweight Title. Not to mention the Commonwealth strap too. It’s as close to a 50/50 fight on paper as you’re ever likely to see, so which way will it go?
