Carabao Cup Fourth Round Best Bets

Crystal Palace will look to bounce back from the shock defeat to Everton when they host Bournemouth at Selhurst Park on Saturday afternoon.

A win in London will see sixth-placed Palace leapfrog fourth-placed Cherries in the Premier League rankings.

Crystal Palace and Bournemouth Put Unbeaten Streaks on the Line

Oliver Glasner’s Crystal Palace saw their 19-game unbeaten streak shatter just before the international break. At their spanking-new Hill Dickinson Stadium, Everton came from behind to beat Crystal Palace. Iliman Ndiaye cancelled out Daniel Munoz’s 37th-minute opener before Jack Grealish scored the winner in injury time.

It was a surprising collapse of the Palace defence, which had conceded just three goals in the previous six games. It could have been due to fatigue, as they had been away to Dynamo Kyiv in the Europa Conference League just three days prior.

Relatively fresher after the international break, Palace will play to save their unbeaten streak at home. Of course, considering the form that Bournemouth have been in, Palace must be at the top of their game to get a positive result.

Under Andoni Iraola, Bournemouth have emerged as one of the most in-form teams in the Premier League.

They had a pretty rough start to the Premier League, with Liverpool beating them 4-2 on opening day. The Cherries have since turned it around, winning four and drawing two games in the Premier League. With 14 points on the board, they sit in fourth place in the Premier League standings.

In their previous outing, Bournemouth came from behind to beat Fulham 3-1 at Vitality Stadium. Star man Antoine Semenyo scored a brace (78′, 90+6′) and Justin Kluivert (84′) found the net to win the game for Bournemouth after Ryan Sessegnon put Fulham ahead in the 70th minute.

Crystal Palace to Draw with Bournemouth – 12/5

Crystal Palace’s unbeaten run of 19 games came to an end when they lost to Everton. This Saturday, they put their unbeaten home record on the line. Unfortunately, they do not have the best of records against Bournemouth.

In 82 clashes, Palace have won 28 times, drawn 21, and lost 32. They have not beaten the Cherries in their last four Premier League meetings (D 2, L 2). Last season, both their games ended goalless. It is also to be noted that two of Palace’s three home games have ended in a draw.

Courtesy of Antoine Semenyo’s otherworldly form and Daniel Munoz’s magic in the final third, another goalless draw seems unlikely. However, considering how evenly matched these two teams are in both attack and defence, we are backing them to share spoils this Saturday.

Both Teams to Score: Yes – 10/13

Neither Crystal Palace nor Bournemouth have exactly been setting the scoreboard alight, but they have certainly been consistent. Palace have scored nine goals total, finding the back of the net in five of seven matches. At home, they have scored in two of three matches.

Bournemouth, on the other hand, have scored in six of their seven games, totalling 11 goals. They have also conceded eight goals, suggesting Daniel Munoz and Co. could get their fair share of chances on Saturday.

Antoine Semenyo Over 0.5 Shots on Target – 8/13

Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo has been a revelation this season. He has scored six goals and provided three assists in seven Premier League matches this season, emerging as the division’s second-highest scorer behind Erling Haaland (9 goals). He averages 2.43 shots and 1.29 shots on target per 90 minutes.

Semenyo, who has seen his price rise once more in FPL price changes for Gameweek 8, is expected to get at least one clear-cut goalscoring opportunity against Crystal Palace.
