Canelo vs Conor McGregor

In a recent interview, pound-for-pound boxing superstar Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez has admitted he is open to a fight with UFC phenom Conor McGregor next year.

Could We See ‘Canelo’ vs Conor McGregor In 2025?

Ahead of his fight this weekend against Edgar Berlanga for three of the world super-middleweight title belts, Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez has admitted that he would be open to a fight with UFC star Conor McGregor down the line.

‘Canelo’ is one of the biggest cash cows in boxing, as is proved by his extortion net worth and career earnings. Not only that, but he is the single most sought after fighter on the planet now and has been since the retirement of Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather.

Should ‘Canelo’ get through Berlanga this weekend, he will likely fight again twice in 2025. One of these fights is likely to be against Terence Crawford or a rematch with Dmitry Bivol, but the other could well be against someone like McGregor.

The Irishman of course has history in boxing, having shared the ring with Mayweather on his one sole professional boxing outing. Now it seems a fight with another great could be on the cards, with the Mexican four-weight world champion admitting a fight with ‘Notorious’ is one that very much appeals to him.

‘I Knock Him Out At The Time I Want’ – ‘Canelo’ On Conor McGregor Bout

In a recent interview with Manouk Akopyan ahead of Canelo vs Berlanga, the 34-year-old fighter alluded to the fact that he would be open with a potential match-up against the former two-division UFC champion.

Not only was the Mexican open to the fight, but he expressed a real interest in the bout and seemed keen to silence the Irishman.

Yeah, why not? Then we’ll show boxing is better,” said the 65 fight boxing veteran.

“Easy, easy. Very easy money… [I knock him out] at the time I want. One round, two rounds, three rounds – whatever I want,” added ‘Canelo’.

Time will tell whether or not the fight actually goes ahead. However, if it does, it is sure to generate hundreds of millions of dollars with every boxing and UFC fan engrossed in the action, should it happen.
