Joseph Parker has revealed his intentions of fighting undefeated British heavyweight Moses Itauma in the near future.

The New Zealander told Ariel Helwani his intentions of sharing the ring with Itauma, calling the 20-year-old out for a blockbuster heavyweight clash next year.

Joseph Parker Calls Out Moses Itauma

Following his knockout defeat to Fabio Wardley in London this past weekend, Joseph Parker is already eying up his next fight.

The New Zealander was stopped in 11 rounds by Wardley, despite being ahead on the cards and in control of the fight.

Some fans felt that Parker was hard done by with the stoppage, with many fellow fighters and fans feeling that referee Howard Foster’s stoppage was somewhat premature.

Almost all Parker vs Wardley industry picks were siding with the former world heavyweight champion, who was the overriding favourite to win. However, that wasn’t to be and it was the undefeated Brit Wardley who instead got his hand raised.

Regardless of the outcome of his last fight, Parker is already planning his next outing. Speaking to Ariel Helwani on The Ariel Helwani Show earlier this week, Parker named a few fighters he wishes to share the ring with. One of those is undefeated British superstar Moses Itauma.

When asked whether he would welcome a fight with the 13-0 heavyweight contender, Parker didn’t mince his words and very much expressed an interest in facing the 20-year-old:

“Moses is a young, talented, explosive, fast heavyweight. It would be a pleasure to share the ring with someone like that,” Parker told Helwani in his call out of the bright future British boxing star.

Whether or not Joseph Parker’s call out of Itauma results in a fight between the pair remains to be seen. It seems that Itauma has plenty of options of his own, whether that be the WBA ordered fight with Kubrat Pulev or something else.

Zhilei Zhang called out Moses Itauma recently too, so that may well be his next fight rather than a dance with the New Zealander.

Joseph Parker Also Calls For Numerous Heavyweight Fights With Top Contenders

As well as calling out Moses Itauma on The Ariel Helwani Show, Joseph Parker also expressed his desire of fighting all of the top heavyweight contenders.

Although Parker didn’t call any fighter out specifically, the former world heavyweight champion mentioned potential bouts with several top fighters in and around the top 10 of the division.

This includes the likes of Anthony Joshua, who Parker has fought before in a world heavyweight title unification back in March 2018. There has been talked of Joshua vs Martin Bakole in Africa of late, but a rematch with Parker is certainly a fight that appeals to boxing fans.

The New Zealander also mentioned names such as Daniel Dubois, Filip Hrgovic and Agit Kabayel. Parker has expressed his desire of sharing the ring with one of these ‘top fighters’, all of whom are highly ranked in the heavyweight division.

It remains to be seen who Parker fights next, and whether or not he will face one of these aforementioned names. If he does, rest assured it will be a thrilling contest.

Joseph Parker’s record is now 36-4 following defeat to Fabio Wardley, but he remains one of the top heavyweights in the world. He is a big name and exciting fighter, so is well placed to land some huge match-ups against the likes of ‘AJ’, Itauma, Dubois or Kabayel in the near future.
