Nottingham Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White has been linked with a move to Manchester United after heaping praise on Ruben Amorim’s side this week.
United travel to Forest on Saturday afternoon, having found a rich vein of form ahead of the clash.
Red Devils boss Ruben Amorim had been under mounting pressure but the Manchester United manager has silenced critics in recent weeks.
His team have won three games in a row, moving to sixth in the table and two points below second-placed Bournemouth.
After beating Sunderland, they shocked Liverpool 2-1 at Anfield, and overcame Brighton 4-2 at the weekend.
Despite a security breach at Manchester United’s training ground, they appear to be heading in the right direction at last.
This weekend, they are looking to win four in a row for the first time since February 2024.
Ahead of the game, Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White was full of praise for United.
Such has been his positivity towards the club, that many have now linked him with a move to Old Trafford.

Morgan Gibbs-White Heaps Praise On Manchester United
Speaking ahead of the weekend’s game, Gibbs-White suggested United’s improvement is well deserved – and long overdue.
He told Stan Sport: “It’s been incredible to see, obviously they’ve been going through a tough time in the past couple of years.
“But they’ve stuck with the gaffer [Amorim] and the past four or five games you’re really starting to see how Man United should be playing.
“That grit and that determination to want to play for the badge.
“I feel like it’s been incredible to see, it’s something I feel like the league has missed.
“All we can do is focus on ourselves,” he added.
“We can’t focus on how Man United are doing and how their performances are because if we do that we’re just almost bowing down to them.
“We’ve got to focus on what we want to do and how we can win the came.
“I feel like this week we’ve already started to implement some ideas and obviously we’ve still got a few more days until the game so I’m sure the gaffer [Sean Dyche] will have more ideas of how we can beat them.”
But with such praise for United, many are wondering if Gibbs-White is angling for a move.
Is Morgan Gibbs-White A Man United Fan?
Morgan Gibbs-White has made no secret of his love of Manchester United.
Born in Stafford, he grew up a Manchester United fan, and confirmed this in an interview in 2023.
Speaking via the Premier League’s YouTube channel, he said: “Growing up as a kid, I supported United, so [Wayne] Rooney was always my favourite player.
“He was the real key player in that squad, so calm and composed.
“Another player I loved watching was Paul Scholes, he used to just pick the ball up and zing it everywhere.”

Fans Suggest Gibbs-White Manchester United Move Could Be On The Cards
Supporters were quick to jump on Gibbs-White’s Man United love-in.
One X user said: “Tell me you’re a United fan by not really telling me you’re a Manchester United fan.”
Another added: “Are we looking at Bruno’s long term replacement?
And a third said: “Bro calling for us to come to his rescue. Once a red always a red.
And it seems fans aren’t the only ones linking the Forest man to Old Trafford.
Earlier this year, former United chief scout Mick Brown hinted at a future move.
He told Football Insider that Ruben Amorim is a ‘big fan’ of Gibbs-White.
“He’s a player who is highly mobile, works very hard, and has this sort of dynamism to his game,” said Brown.
“That’s something Ruben Amorim likes and needs in the system he wants to play.
“I’m told Amorim is a big fan of Gibbs-White from what he’s seen.”

How Would Manchester United Line Up With Morgan Gibbs-White?
But while boyhood United fan Gibbs-White would clearly love a move to Old Trafford, where would he play?
In Rúben Amorim’s preferred 3-4-3 shape, Morgan Gibbs-White would most naturally slot in behind the main striker on the right hand side.
His creativity, pressing ability and ability to find space between the lines suits Amorim’s system perfectly.
In order to fit him into the team, Amorim may drop Bruno Fernandes deeper into the double-pivot, as he did at the weekend against Brighton.
This most likely means that Gibbs-White would compete with Bryan Mebumo and Matheus Cunha for a starting spot.
Gibbs-White’s main role would be to connect the build-up play and trigger the press when out of possession.
With the ball, he would likely drift more centrally to link with Bruno and Sesko.
Possible Manchester United XI With Morgan Gibbs-White (3-4-3):
Lammens; Yoro, Maguire, De Ligt; Amad, Casemiro, Bruno Fernandes, Dalot; Gibbs-White, Šeško, Mbeumo.
