Atletico Madrid found a hilarious way to troll rivals Real Madrid on social media after Real’s 1-0 Champions League defeat to Liverpool at Anfield.
Following last night’s UEFA Champions League action, Atletico Madrid took a subtle swipe at arch rivals Real.
Atletico defeated Belgian side Union Saint-Gilloise 3-1 at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano.
Goals from Julian Alvarez and Marcos Llorente came either side of a strike from ex-Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher to secure the win.
Meanwhile, Atletico’s rivals Real Madrid were beaten 1-0 at Anfield by Liverpool.
The Premier League champions scored after an hour through Alexis Mac Allister, leading Atletico to post a brilliant image on social media.
Manager Arne Slot had bee under pressure after for straight losses, with the last time Liverpool lost five games in a row coming more than 70 years ago.
But back to back wins has eased pressure on the Dutch coach, and allowed Atletico Madrid to poke fun at their rivals.
Atletico Madrid Troll Real Madrid With Clever Post
After their victory against Union SG, Atletico took to X (formerly Twitter) to share a post celebrating their three goal scorers.
The post includes pictures of Gallagher, Llorente and Alvarez, with a cheeky addition.
Pictured alongside Alvarez was the name Mac Allister, in this case Alexis’ brother Kevin, who plays for Union SG.

Fans React To Cheeky Atletico Madrid Image Selection
Although perhaps a happy coincidence, most fans seem to agree that Atletico’s choice of image was a deliberate and hilarious dig at their rivals.
In the comments underneath the post on X, one fan said: “We all know what you did there admin!”
A Liverpool supporter added: “Give this admin a pay rise now!”
And even Real Madrid fans were able to see the funny side.
One Real supporter joked: “Not gonna lie, you ate with this post. We’ll see you back at the Bernabeu.”
How Many Brothers Does Alexis Mac Allister Have?
Alexis and Kevin Mac Allister aren’t the only elite players in their family, though.
Born in Santa Rose in Argentina’s La Pampa province, Alexis Mac Allister is the son of former footballer Carlos Mac Allister.
He has two older brothers, Kevin and Francis, who are both also professional footballers.

While Kevin plays for Union Saint-Gilloise, Francis has remained in Argentina.
Currently at Instituto, Francis is on loan from Argentinos Juniors, the club where all three brothers started their careers.
As well as a footballing father and two footballing brothers, Alexis Mac Allister’s uncle Patricio Mac Allister and cousin Luciano Guaycochea are also footballers.
The Mac Allister family are primarily of Irish descent, tracing their ancestry back to Donbate, County Dublin.
The brothers also have some Italian lineage through their maternal grandmother.
