Exeter Horse Racing Tips: ITV Racing Best Bets On Friday 7th November 2025

1:50 Exeter – ICL Conscious Of Our Impact ‘Future Stars’ Silver Bowl Novices’ Chase Cl2 (4yo+) 3m ITV4

Just the four runners here but despite the small numbers this is still a nice little race, where cases can be made for all.

However, Western Knight is the only horse to either not win yet over this trip or at the course and is the lowest-rated in the field – so is overlooked this time.

With the call being for the Paul Nicholls yard to take this with QUEBECOIS – in a contest the Ditcheat team love to target.

They’ve won the pot five times since 2018, including for the last two years – with Stay Away Fay and Captain Teague.

This 6 year-old is a two-time winner over hurdles and was last seen in winning action at Ayr in April, but has always looked the sort to progress again now chasing.

Has also had a wind op over the summer and being a former course winner here (hurdles), that’s a further plus. Harry Cobden, who has also ridden the last two winners of this race for Nicholls, gets the leg-up.

Skelton’s Doyen Quest and the only other course winner in the field, Tiny Tetley can follow the pick home.

2:25 Exeter – BetMGM Haldon Gold Cup Handicap Chase (Grade 2) (Limited Handicap Chase) Cl1 (4yo+) 2m1½f ITV4

Another Exeter race the Paul Nicholls do well in – they’ve won this prize a record eight times over the years – including with some very big names in Azertyuiop, Greaneteen and Politologue.

They try for a ninth success with Kalif Du Berlais, who comes here as an improving chaser that has won three of his five chase starts.

The last was a top win in the Grade One Maghull Novices’ Chase at the Aintree Grand National Meeting in April – but my slight worry is the longer trip today.

With his three wins over fences coming over 2m 1/2f or less – and Exeter can often require some getting. But the Nicholls camp do boast a 35% SR with their chasers here.

Take Last Year’s Haldon Gold Cup Winner To Go Well Again

Therefore, the slightly better value looks to be to side with last year’s winner JPR ONE – as we know this track and trip are fine.

Tizzard’s runner also has a top record fresh – having taken this race off a break 12 months ago and also won first time out in 2023.

In fact, four of his six career wins have all come off lay-offs. JPR One will be looking to become the first back-to-back winner of this race since the former King George winner Edredon Bleu in 2002/03.

He’s rated 4lbs higher than last year, but is still only aged 8 and in fact 12 months ago won with 11st 12lbs and now has 11st 9lbs.

Of the rest, recent Chepstow scorer Saint Segal is a consistent chaser, while Martator comes here after being pulled out of his race last week at Ascot.

He’ll be trying to give trainer Venetia Williams her second win in the race – with her first coming way back in 2000 with Bellator, the year before the mighty Best Mate won this prize.

Plus Thistle Ask is 3-from-4 over fences and after a good win at Wetherby last time out looks a chaser on the up for the Skeltons.

🥈KALIF DU BERLAIS
🥉SAINT SEGAL

3:00 Exeter – Oddschecker Handicap Hurdle Cl4 (3yo+ 0-110) 2m½f ITV4

By far the hardest puzzle on the card, so small stakes are advised here with 18 runners heading to post.

The race hasn’t seen a winning favourite in the last five but with all of the last five winners aged 5 or 6, there might be something to go on here.

With that in mind, and the fact the Anthony Honeyball yard have a decent SR at the moment (31%) and are also 23% with their hurdlers at the track – their OAKLEY’S WAY is the call.

This 5 year-old has only had five career runs and is yet to win – but returned last month with a fair second here at Exeter and so that track experience is a plus.

He’s into a handicap for the first time too, which will help and Sam Twiston-Davies has ridden the horse twice in the past.

Ugo Bingo, for the Tizzard and JPR One connections, is interesting too after being a beaten favourite here (head) last time and will be better for the run.

While the Paul Nicholls runner Him Malaya also ticks the age trend at 6 and should be better dropped back in trip after taking a hold and not getting home over 2m5f at Kempton the last day.

Olive Nicholls rides and takes off a handy 7lbs.

3:35 Exeter – Oddschecker ‘Challenger’ Stayers’ Handicap Chase Cl3 (4yo+ 0-130) 3m

Our final Exeter horse racing tip for Friday’s ITV Racing comes in a 3m Stayers’ Handicap Chase, with nine runners.

Again, a very open-looking affair – but a chance is taken on another Harry Cobden-ridden horse – JUPITER ALLEN.

Cobden won this race last year too for Emma Lavelle, and this time teams up with the Chester Williams team.

This 6 year-old was last seen highly-tried in the NH Chase at the Cheltenham Festival in March (11th), but before that was a winner over 2m7f at Taunton.

Is only 4lbs higher than that last win here today and the drop back in trip will help. He’s also a CD winner at the track, when winning at the Devon venue just over a year ago.

Another course winner Gyenyame can go well for the Joe Tizzard team, being eased in grade from his return run last time at Newton Abbot.

While Skelton’s Theonewedreamof is sure to be popular too after this former Gavin Cromwell-trained mare made a pleasing stable debut (2nd) at Chepstow last month.
