George Liddard - Boxing

George Liddard is set to defend his British and Commonwealth middleweight titles against former Lonsdale belt holder Brad Pauls in early 2026.

Liddard became British and Commonwealth champion at 160-pounds after stopping Kieron Conway last time out, and is set for the first defence of his belts against Pauls.

George Liddard vs Brad Pauls Targeted For Early 2026

George Liddard vs Brad Pauls is being targeted for early 2026, according to SportsCasting sources.

After defeating Kieron Conway last time out to become the youngest British champion in history, Liddard is set to defend his British and Commonwealth middleweight titles against Pauls in the first quarter of next year.

Pauls, who is scheduled to face Michal Chludil in a six-rounder on November 22, formerly held the Lonsdale belt at 160-pounds, which is now in possession of Liddard.

Provided Pauls gets through his six-rounder later this month unscathed, ‘The Newquay Bomb’ will have the chance at becoming a two-time British champion. The 32-year-old will also have the opportunity to win the Commonwealth belt, which he is yet to do so far in his 23-fight pro career.

After losing his British title to Denzel Bentley back in December 2024, Pauls bounced back with a points win over journeyman Omir Rodriguez in May. With a record of 20-2-1, Pauls looks set for another opportunity at winning back the coveted Lonsdale belt.

Liddard on the other hand will be hoping to make a successful first defence of both the British and Commonwealth titles that he won at the York Hall in October.

The 23-year-old stopped former champion Conway in Round 10 of their 160-pound contest, moving to 13-0 as a professional since making his debut three years ago.

Liddard trains in the Matchroom gym under the tutelage of Tony Sims, alongside the likes of Conor Benn, Daniel Dubois, Johnny Fisher and Joe Cordina.

Expect Liddard ringside to support his stablemate Benn on November 15 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in his rematch with Chris Eubank Jr where the Eubank Jr vs Benn 2 rules have been finalised.

George Liddard To Defend British and Commonwealth Middleweight Titles Against Former Champion Brad Pauls

As far as first defences of your British and Commonwealth titles go, facing Brad Pauls will be no easy task for George Liddard.

Pauls has the advantage in experience and boxing nous, but Liddard of course has youth on his side.

The 23-year-old looked sensational last time out in stopping Kieron Conway in what was a coming of age performance from the Essex-based fighter.

Pauls of course drew with Nathan Heaney in their first fight for the British Middleweight Title back in March 2024, before winning the Lonsdale belt off Heaney in their rematch four months later.

The 20-2-1 middleweight knocked Heaney down in the fourth round before closing the show in style in the 12th and final round to fulfil a boyhood dream of becoming British champion.

Now he has the chance of becoming a two-time British middleweight king, but has the small task of beating undefeated champion George Liddard in front of him if he is to do so.

Stay tuned for official confirmation from Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Boxing with a date and venue for George Liddard vs Brad Pauls for the British and Commonwealth middleweight titles early next year.
