Alex Pereira vs Carlos Ulberg Officially Targeted For UFC 324
It has been confirmed that Alex Pereira vs Carlos Ulberg is officially in the works for UFC 324 with confirmation pending from Dana White for this January 24 mega-card.
UFC 324 is expected to go down at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on January 24, with Pereira vs Ulberg targeted for the main or co-main event for the first Paramount+ event.
Ilia Topuria vs Paddy Pimblett is confirmed for UFC 324 on January 24 too with an official announcement imminent, which means Pereira vs Ulberg will likely land as the co-main event to Topuria vs Pimblett.
Pereira was last seen regaining the UFC Light-Heavyweight Title in his rematch with Magomed Ankalaev at UFC 320 by stopping the then champion in Round 1 to win back the 205-pound belt that he lost seven months previous to the same opponent.
Ulberg on the other hand was last seen knocking out former light-heavyweight title contender Dominick Reyes inside one round in late September. This performance saw Ulberg jump to #3 in the official UFC light-heavyweight rankings, and thus has seemingly earned him a shot at the belt next.
Ulberg’s last performance earned him one of the coveted UFC bonuses, securing a ‘Performance of the Night’ in Perth to punch his ticket to a title shot and a showdown at UFC 324 with ‘Poatan’.
Although there have been no fights formally announced by the UFC for UFC 324, expect them to filter through in the coming weeks. That includes Alex Pereira vs Carlos Ulberg for the UFC Light-Heavyweight Title in the co-main event to Topuria vs Pimblett.

Who Will Be The Pereira vs Ulberg Favourite?
As the seventh most followed UFC fighter on Instagram, Alex Pereira is evidently a popular mixed martial artist. He is even more popular now following his rematch victory over Magomed Ankalaev at UFC 320 where he regained the UFC Light-Heavyweight Title.
With Pereira now expected to defend his 205-pound crown against the #3 ranked Carlos Ulberg at UFC 324, MMA fans are wondering who the favourite will be for the match-up.
It comes as no surprise to learn that the Pereira vs Ulberg favourite will of course be the champion himself. ‘Poatan’ has looked so dominant in his MMA career to date, bar the two UFC fights he has lost. Apart from that, the Brazilian has looked close to invincible.
Although Ulberg is on a nine-fight winning streak which includes wins over former champion Jan Blachowicz and former 205-pound title contenders Dominick Reyes and Volkan Oezdemir, on paper he is still no match for Pereira.
That is unless Pereira is still suffering from an injury, with reports that the Brazilian MMA star broke his foot in the aftermath of UFC 320 and was even spotted in a walking boot a matter of weeks ago.
However, it looks like Pereira has made a swift recovery and is set to defend his UFC Light-Heavyweight Title against Carlos Ulberg at UFC 324.
With Ilia Topuria vs Paddy Pimblett in doubt, Pereira vs Ulberg may well proceed as the UFC 324 main event to kickstart the new Paramount+ broadcast deal on January 24.
