Scottie Scheffler Makes Golf History Only Achieved By Tiger Woods

It’s glaringly obvious to every golf fan around the world that Scottie Scheffler is by far and away the greatest player in the sport today.

Rory McIlroy may have achieved more in his career and is still world class, but he’s no match for the supremacy of Scheffler right now.

This has been amplified ten-fold after Scheffler has put in one of the most dominant PGA Tour seasons in golfing history in 2025.

The four-time major champion won two majors this year, reigning at both the PGA Championship and Open Championship. This now means he is just a US Open victory away from achieving the coveted golf career Grand Slam.

Along with his two majors in 2025, Scheffler won another four PGA Tour tournaments. His yearly earnings eclipsed $49.6million, which was more than any other player by a fairly substantial margin.

With the 2025 PGA Tour season now officially complete, the 29-year-old has officially made golf history and joined Tiger Woods in achieving a feat nobody else has ever come close to.

The Texas-born golfing juggernaut officially led the PGA Tour scoring average for Round 1, Round 2, Round 3 and Round 4 over the course of the entire season from January to November.

Scottie Scheffler Led PGA Tour In Scoring Average For All Four Rounds In 2025

Scottie Scheffler’s net worth has well surpassed the $60m mark, which is mainly thanks to his incredible ability on the golf course. Ever since winning his first PGA Tour event in February 2022, the 29-year-old has gone on to become one of the highest earning players in the history of the sport.

He has won a total of 24 PGA Tour tournaments, four of which were major championships. Now, the two-time Masters champion has joined elite company in fulfilling a feat only previously achieved by 15-time major champion Tiger Woods.

This just goes to show the level of competitor we are talking about when it comes to Scheffler. His numbers and stats today are just as dominant as Tiger’s were in his prime.

Woods achieved the feat of leading the PGA Tour in scoring average in Round 1, Round 2, Round 3 and Round 4 over the course of the entire 2000 season. This year, Scheffler has done the exact same.

Scheffler’s Round 1 scoring average is 67.5, with his scoring average for Round 2 just half-a-shot worse at 68.

Statistically Scheffler’s ‘worst’ scoring round is the third across every PGA Tour tournament he played, with a scoring average of 68.4. His scoring average for Sunday final rounds is 68.1, meaning he is the leader in the field across every single round of golf.

This indicates the level of elite talent that Scottie Scheffler produces in every round of golf. Is it any wonder he is so difficult to beat?

Scheffler is set to return once more before Christmas, with golf fans able to see the world no.1 in action once more before the 2026 PGA Tour season kicks off in January at the Sony Open from 15-18 January.
