Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has sent a transfer message to the Eagles board following his side’s Conference League defeat by Strasbourg on Thursday.
Oliver Glasner Sends Crystal Palace Transfer Message
Oliver Glasner says Crystal Palace ‘need more players who show up and score goals’.
The Eagles fell to a 2-1 defeat by Ligue 1 side Strasbourg in the Conference League league phase on Thursday evening, having initially taken the lead through Tyrick Mitchell in the first half.
Second-half goals by soon-to-be Chelsea forward Emmanuel Emegha and Samir El Mourabet sealed all three points for the hosts, as Palace’s five-game unbeaten run came to an end.

They now boast a record of two wins and two defeats in the third-tier European competition.
It’s a return that sees them sit in 18th place in the table, currently primed for knockout phase play-off qualification, with fixtures against Shelbourne and KuPS to follow on MD5 and MD6.
In the wake of his side’s first loss of the month, a frustrated Glasner spoke to TNT Sports and pinpointed missed opportunities as the main reason for the underwhelming result.
Glasner said: “When you twice have an empty goal in front of you and you miss the goal twice hitting the post, you should be 3-1 up. Then we have the big chance against the keeper – and then in the next action we are 2-1 down.
“It has happened too many times this season when we did not decide the game when we could. And, of course, even after the free-kick we were not sharp enough. In the end, we lacked 1% or 2% and that is why we lost against a good Strasbourg team.
“Strasbourg have very good, quick players – we knew it. OK, you can concede the equaliser, but then we have the next empty net we are missing, and then the next big chance against the keeper that we are missing – and then you lose the game.
“I think that is also why we deserved to lose.
“It is a little bit the story. We need more players who show up and score goals. Nobody does it on purpose [but] at the moment it happens too often. You can’t always rely on keeping the clean sheet because the opponent is also doing well.”

Glasner Linked With Liverpool Job
Clearly in need of more prolific attackers, Glasner will hope to be backed in the January transfer market.
If the club doesn’t back him though, his frustrations may grow stronger. Subsequently, this could lead to his departure from South London, with Liverpool among his potential suitors.
The Reds are in dreadful form at the minute, having lost three consecutive matches by a three-goal margin, with fans calling for Arne Slot to be sacked off the back of their poor run.
He is currently the second favourite to go in the Premier League sack race betting odds market.
In fact, Liverpool’s drastic decline has started to worry Crystal Palace bosses, as reports suggest Glasner is a leading candidate for the Anfield role should Slot depart.
The reigning champions are said to be big admirers of Glasner, and crucially, he is yet to pen a new deal at Selhurst Park, which makes him a cheaper option than many other candidates.
Priced at 11/2, he is the third favourite in the next Liverpool manager betting odds market.
Palace Next In Action Against Manchester United
Looking to put their midweek defeat in Europe behind them, Palace return to domestic action with a Premier League clash against Manchester United at home in Sunday’s early kick-off.
The Eagles are currently in fifth place in the table, just a point outside the top four.
They head into the tie having cruised to a 2-0 win at Molineux against bottom-of-the-table Wolves last weekend. Daniel Munoz and Yeremy Pino scored the all-important goals in that one.
Not only will that result give them confidence heading into the tie, but so will the Red Devils’ recent results and performances. Ruben Amorim’s side lost 1-0 to 10-man Everton last time out.
Additionally, United are now without a win in three consecutive English top-flight outings.
They are also winless in four successive head-to-head matches against Palace, with the Eagles claiming a 2-0 win at Old Trafford when the pair last faced off in February earlier this year.
