Conor McGregor vs Michael Chandler - UFC (1)

Michael Chandler will face Conor McGregor at UFC White House next June.

The American took to social media to announce he will face the Irishman on the South Lawn at UFC White House on June 14.

Conor McGregor vs Michael Chandler Confirmed For UFC White House

UFC lightweight contender Michael Chandler has all but confirmed that he will be facing fierce rival Conor McGregor on June 14 at UFC White House.

It still remains to be seen who will headline UFC White House next summer, but McGregor vs Chandler is certainly a fight worthy of the main event slot on star power alone.

McGregor hasn’t competed inside the UFC octagon since July 2021. The last time we saw the Irishman in action was when he broke his leg in his trilogy bout with Dustin Poirier, which saw him lose back-to-back fights for the very first time in his MMA career.

Ever since then, McGregor has teased a return to the octagon, but is yet to fulfil his promise. That is until now, with the former two-division UFC king reportedly back in full training as he prepares for a return at UFC White House.

UFC President Dana White has not yet confirmed any fights for the UFC event on the South Lawn of the White House next summer, but has hinted that McGregor is a front-runner to headline the event.

If he is to headline, the only real logical opponent is Chandler. The American is still ranked inside the top 15 at lightweight, but has lost five of his last six UFC contests.

McGregor vs Chandler has been rumoured for years now, and it finally looks like the fight will get officially signed for UFC White House on June 14 next year, which also happens to be President Donald Trump’s birthday.

McGregor vs Chandler Finally On Two Years After Cancelled Bout

Should Conor McGregor vs Michael Chandler go ahead at UFC White House next summer, this would mark almost exactly two years from when the pair were scheduled to go head-to-head back at UFC 303.

McGregor vs Chandler was set for the UFC 303 main event back in June 2024, with the fight eventually getting cancelled due to the Irishman sustaining an injury just two weeks out.

The pair even competed as rival coaches on The Ultimate Fighter 31 back in 2023, with a fight brewing between the pair ever since. Now, it looks like their rivalry will finally be settled once and for all at UFC White House.

It remains to be seen whether the fight will headline the event on the South Lawn, or if there will be bigger fights for legitimate UFC titles at the top of the bill instead.

That being said, McGregor remains the single biggest name in the sport of MMA by quite some distance, so will likely headline UFC White House regardless with Chandler the perfect dance partner.

Jon Jones is widely regarded as the greatest MMA fighter of all time, and Jones has pleaded with Dana White for a UFC White House main event slot, but looks like he will miss out to McGregor and Chandler.

There are of course other potential fighters that could headline, but if ‘Notorious’ is returning at UFC White House, he is undoubtedly going to be the main event.

Chandler all but confirmed his bout with McGregor at UFC White House, taking to social media with a video revealing the fight is happening:

The fight’s already happening. He’s brought in guys to his training camp to mimic my style. I’ll fight Conor, June, South Lawn, White House, God bless,” said Chandler.
