International lottery group Allwyn has celebrated a big win of a different kind this week after Lando Norris became the 2025 Formula 1 World Drivers’ Champion.

Allwyn were the official team sponsors for McLaren through a season in which it also kicked-off a multi-year partnership with Formula 1.

In a new strategic move to help drive home its global appeal, Allwyn has appointed Tatiana Jouanneau as Group Chief Brand Officer.

The operator of the UK national lottery announced in October that it is merging with Athens-based gaming company OPAP.

The business combination of Allwyn and OPAP will create the second largest listed lottery and gaming operator globally worth in the region of €16 billion.

“I’m honoured to be joining Allwyn at such a dynamic stage in its evolution,” said Jouanneau, who has worked with high-profile brands such as Logitech, Duracell and Procter & Gamble.

“Over the next few years, Allwyn will continue on its exciting journey of growth, and I am eager to help shape a global brand that connects deeply with players and partners alike.”

Double World Champions McLaren

It was a stellar year for McLaren and, by association, Allwyn too.

Lando Norris had to negotiate a tense weekend in Abu Dhabi before clinching his first World Drivers’ Championship with a third-place finish in the final race of the season.

He became the 11th British winner of motorsport’s most prestigious title and just the 35th in the sport’s 75-year history.

McLaren lifted the F1 World Constructors’ Championship for a second year in a row after gaining an uncatchable lead following the Singapore Grand Prix.

That sealed the team’s 10th championship in style with six races still to run.

Allwyn And McLaren’s Scratch Car

Unveiling the world’s first Scratch Car was among several eye-catching initiatives launched by Allwyn and McLaren during the F1 season.

Australian driver Oscar Piastri was on hand at the Las Vegas Grand Prix to unveil the life-size model of a McLaren F1 car.

Paper artist and sculptor Florian Weber was commissioned to hand-build the unique play on popular scratch cards.

There were several McLaren-themed prizes up for grabs with 970 scratchable panels for visitors to attack.

Fans could also visit a version on social media, with the chance to win a day out at the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking.
