Haaland Labels Carragher a ‘Loose Cannon’ Over Salah Comments
Erling Haaland labelled Jamie Carragher a ‘loose cannon’ over his Mohamed Salah comments following Manchester City’s 2-1 win over Real Madrid in the Champions League on Wednesday.
Haaland was on form both on and off the pitch, having netted from the spot at the Santiago Bernabeu to complete a first-half turnaround for Pep Guardiola’s side.
Rodrygo gave the hosts an initial lead after 28 minutes before Nico O’Reilly drew City level seven minutes later. Haaland converted from 12 yards after a lengthy VAR check on 43 minutes.

Incredibly, it was the 25-year-old’s 55th Champions League goal in just his 54th appearance.
Greeted by the CBS Sports studio after the game, the City star immediately ripped into Carragher, saying: “Oof, I’m getting nervous now when I see Jamie Carragher in the studio.”
Carragher, Thierry Henry, Micah Richards and Kate Abdo responded by bursting into laughter, with the legendary Liverpool defender assuring the forward that he ‘doesn’t have to be nervous’.
Following the jibe, Richards asked Haaland: “Erling, who do you prefer? Rudiger or Carragher?”
The Norwegian responded: “I think I’d have to say Rudiger because Carragher is a bit of a loose cannon.” Once again, his comments sparked a massive burst of laughter from the panel.

Carragher: Salah Outburst A ‘Disgrace’
Haaland’s comments follow Carragher’s eight-minute rant criticising Salah for accusing Liverpool of throwing him ‘under the bus’ after being benched in three successive matches.
During his rant, Carragher said: “I thought it was a disgrace what he did after the game. Some people have painted it as an emotional outburst, I do not think it was.
“I think whenever Salah stops in the mixed zone, which he’s done four times in eight years at Liverpool, it’s choreographed between him and his agent to cause maximum damage and to strengthen his own position.”
He continued: “The one line that stands out for me is ‘thrown under the bus.’ He’s thrown the club under the bus twice in the last 12 months.
“With the manager right now, he should be doing as much as he can to help the club get out of the worst run they’ve had since the 1950s and he hasn’t done that.
“When we are talking about throwing people under the bus, he’s thrown every Liverpool right-back under the bus for the 8 years. Can you imagine playing behind him for eight years?
“But we accept it because he’s a superstar and he’s scored 250 goals and he’s given me as a Liverpool supporter some of the greatest nights of my life.”
The Egyptian was left out of the Reds’ squad for their trip to Inter on Tuesday off the back of his outburst. Salah responded on social media by posting an image of himself alone in the gym.
Carragher took another potshot at Salah over his post, sharing the winger’s image with the caption: “I’m not sure I’ve wanted Liverpool to win a game more than tonight for a long time!”
Saturday’s clash against Brighton could be the 33-year-old’s final game for the Reds.
He is due to link up with the Egypt national team for AFCON next Monday.
Heavily linked with moves to Saudi Arabia and the United States, Al Ittihad are favoured in the latest Mo Salah next club odds, with Al Hilal, Al Nassr and Al Ahli following in the market.
