Wednesday Transfer Rumours Roundup

Bayern Munich ‘Big Admirers’ of Bruno Fernandes

Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich are ‘known to be big admirers’ of Bruno Fernandes amid reports linking him with a move away from Manchester United, according to talkSPORT.

It follows on from the Portugal international’s bombshell interview earlier in the week, in which he revealed that the Old Trafford club tried to offload him to Saudi Arabia last summer.

Fernandes admitted that he was left feeling ‘hurt’ by the club’s actions.

Some have suggested that the 31-year-old, whose contract includes a £57m release clause for foreign clubs next summer, could depart at the end of the 2025-26 season as a result.

Could the Bavarians finally act on their interest in the prolific midfielder?

Fernandes has been in fine form as of late, netting twice and assisting once in the 4-1 win over Wolves last week, as well as scoring and assisting in the 4-4 draw against Bournemouth.

United threw away the lead on three separate occasions in the stalemate against the Cherries on Monday, which has, once again, raised questions over the future of manager Ruben Amorim.

Oliver Glasner is favoured to replace him in the next Manchester United manager odds market.

Chicago Fire Lead Race for Robert Lewandowski

MLS side Chicago Fire lead the race for Barcelona’s Robert Lewandowski, reports BBC Sport.

The Eastern Conference outfit have held ‘positive talks’ with Poland’s record goalscorer, with the 37-year-old’s contract at the Camp Nou due to expire at the end of the 2025-26 season.

Lewandowski is said to be open to the move, and his wages shouldn’t be an issue.

Inter Miami have been linked with the legendary forward in the past, while his other options include staying with La Blaugrana and moving to the big-spending Saudi Pro League.

As reported in last Tuesday’s transfer roundup, AC Milan are interested in Lewandowski, too.

The Fire have also been linked with a move for Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah.

They are seen as outsiders to land the Egyptian in January though, priced at 25/1 to do so in the latest Mo Salah next club odds. Saudi side Al Ittihad lead the market as 3/1 favourites.

Five Premier League Clubs in Antoine Semenyo Chase

Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham are all in the chase for standout Bournemouth star Antoine Semenyo ahead of the January transfer window.

The 25-year-old has a £65m release clause in January, only active for the first two weeks of the window, with the English top-flight’s elite circling for his signature.

His release clause reportedly drops by around £5m next summer.

Semenyo’s contract at the Vitality Stadium runs until the summer of 2030, having penned a new four-and-a-half-year deal to extend his stay with the Cherries back in July.

United are favoured ahead of their counterparts to land the Ghana international, either in the winter or summer, with Amorim’s side topping the Antoine Semenyo next club odds market.

The winger was on target against the Red Devils on Monday, netting the first of his side’s four.

He now has seven goals and three assists in 15 Premier League appearances this term.

Aston Villa Planning Youri Tielemans Contract Talks

Aston Villa are planning to open talks with Youri Tielemans over a new contract.

His current deal runs until the summer of 2028, and having developed into a key player under Unai Emery in the West Midlands, the Villans are keen to tie the Belgian down to a new deal.

Football Insider claim that Villa Park chiefs are keen to tie him down long-term amid their ongoing issues with the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR).

Due to PSR, Villa will find it difficult to strengthen their squad in upcoming windows.

As a result, the club are desperate to keep hold of their most important players, with Tielemans among the most valuable players within Emery’s squad ahead of the January window.

Liverpool Interested in Gremio Youngster Gabriel Mec

Gremio youngster Gabriel Mec is drawing interest from Liverpool, reports Nicolo Schira.

Mec, a 17-year-old attacking midfielder and winger, starred for Brazil at the U17 World Cup in Qatar and has been a standout performer for Gremio’s youth sides in recent months.

As a result, he has been heavily linked with a move to Europe when his contract expires in 2027.

Shakhtar Donetsk and Chelsea, alongside the Reds, have been mooted as potential destinations.

Mec revealed that the Blues held talks with him over a potential move last summer after they had sent scouts to watch his games, however a move for the young talent failed to materialise.

Should Chelsea reignite their interest in Mec, they look set to face competition from Liverpool.
