West Ham will look to tweak their strike force yet again in January by signing Jorgen Strand Larsen as they fight for Premier League survival.
The Hammers are in real danger of being cut adrift in the relegation places following Leeds’ resurgence of form.
They currently sit five points behind Nottingham Forest and have not won in their last six matches, with crucial home games against Fulham and Brighton to come.
January arrivals are imperative for Nuno Espirito Santo, who is 10/1 in the Premier League sack race, and he’s identified a new frontman to help bolster their chances.
West Ham target Wolves’ Jorgen Strand Larsen
According to the Athletic, West Ham have targeted the 25-year-old to strengthen the quality of their attack.
Strand Larsen’s stock rose last campaign when he scored 14 Premier League goals, but he’s struggled to replicate those numbers amid Wolves’ abysmal form.
He’s scored three goals across all competitions this season, and ironically, two of those came against West Ham in the EFL Cup.
Strand Larsen has other potential suitors, and therefore West Ham will need to convince him that his long-term future lies with the London club.
Their precarious league position will be a sticking point, while Strand Larsen’s transfer fee could also be a stumbling block.
He only signed a new deal in the summer, after Wolves rejected bids from Newcastle, that will keep him at the club until 2030.
Since 2010, West Ham have signed 57 attacking players in total, and the majority have flattered to deceive.
Niclas Fullkrug on his way out
West Ham are ready to let Germany international Fullkrug leave for AC Milan in January, as reported in our Transfer Roundup.
Fullkrug is likely to leave on loan to the Italian title-chasers with the option of a permanent deal. His salary will be paid in full.
The 32-year-old has been on the periphery of the first-team this season, having underwhelmed since his £27million move following the Euros in 2024.
Fullkrug hasn’t started a league game for West Ham since October 4.
The striker has also made it clear to club chiefs that he wants to make the switch, and West Ham are unlikely to stand in his way.
West Ham also have problems at the other end of the pitch, having conceded 35 goals in 17 matches. It’s the second-worst record behind Wolves.
They are the third odds-on favourites to be relegated back to the Championship for the first time since the 2011-12 campaign.
