The Anthony Yarde next fight has been officially confirmed by His Excellency Turki Alalshikh as the 30-3 British light-heavyweight contender gets third world title shot against David Benavidez in November.
Anthony Yarde Next Fight: Yarde Set For Third World Title Shot vs David Benavidez
Although perhaps not a household name in world boxing, Anthony Yarde is certainly a man well known to the British public. Yarde is of course a two-time world title challenger at light-heavyweight, having shared the ring with the likes of Artur Beterbiev and Sergey Kovalev.
‘The Beast from the East’ has been fairly inactive of late, but did get back to winning ways on the Chris Eubank Jr vs Conor Benn undercard back in April with a trilogy victory over rival Lyndon Arthur. Thanks to that win, Yarde is now being granted another world title shot before the end of the year.
Anthony Yarde’s record now stands at 27-3 with 24 KO’s. Two of his three defeats have come at world level against Artur Beterbiev and Sergey Kovalev, with his only other defeat being one he later avenged twice.
In regards to the Anthony Yarde next fight, it has been confirmed that the 33-year-old will face the undefeated WBC World Light-Heavyweight Champion David Benavidez in Saudi Arabia this November.
An exact date is yet to be confirmed, but the bout is set to headline a bumper Riyadh Season card alongside Devin Haney’s next fight against WBO World Welterweight Champion Brian Norman Jr.
Standing in Yarde’s way is one of the best fighters in world boxing. Benavidez is currently 30-0 with 24 knockouts, despite just being 28-years-old. He is a world class fighter and could well be the best 175-pound fighter in the world besides Dmitry Bivol and Arthur Beterbiev.
Going into the contest, Yarde is understandably a big underdog with the best UK boxing betting sites. This comes as no surprise at all given just how good Benavidez is. Anthony Yarde’s next fight is certainly a tough one, but isn’t an impossible task.

Could Anthony Yarde Fight Callum Smith or Joshua Buatsi Next After Benavidez?
Although there is no guarantee that Anthony Yarde’s next fight will end in triumph, boxing fans are also talking about other potential fights moving forward at light-heavyweight.
There has been some talk about another huge all-British clash for Yarde next. The two most prominent names being floated about in regards to a potential fight with Anthony Yarde later this year are Callum Smith and Joshua Buatsi.
Smith of course beat Buatsi on the Beterbiev vs Bivol 2 undercard in February in what was a Fight of the Year contender. Now, either fighter could end up facing Yarde next, if indeed he beats David Benavidez in November and becomes WBC world champion at 175-pounds.
A fight with either Smith or Buatsi would be a complete barnstormer, no matter who it is against. Fingers crossed Yarde does the business against Benavidez, then can defend his WBC belt against either of his two British rivals.
‘The Beast from the East’ would likely be an underdog against both Smith and Buatsi with the best online bookmakers. That being said, Yarde would have a lot of backers as the best new betting sites underdog pre-fight against either man.
His Excellency Turki Alalshikh may also take an interest in Yarde and perhaps include him in more blockbuster Saudi cards going forward too. This is provided he wins in November against Benavidez of course.
All in all, Anthony Yarde has a lot of options going forward in the light-heavyweight division, even if he were to lose his next fight for the WBC World Light-Heavyweight Title.
