Arsenal Stats Show They Have Improved This Season

Arsenal have taken significantly more points this season than they did in the same Premier League fixtures last year.

The Gunners have secured 33 points from 14 English top-flight fixtures this season, opening up a five-point lead over Manchester City in second.

They scored 24 points in like-for-like fixtures in the 2024/25 season.

Arsenal Are the Most In-Form European Team

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal have enjoyed a remarkable start to the 2025/26 season. In 14 Premier League matches, they have won 10, drawn three, and lost only once.

That defeat – their only one across competitions this season – came against English champions Liverpool at the end of August. Arsenal have since played 18 matches in all tournaments, winning 15 and drawing 3.

Arsenal are the only team with a 100% record in Europe this season and are leading the Champions League winner betting odds market.

Arsenal Have Beaten Last-Season Premier League Metrics

After finishing second in the last three seasons, Arsenal are in a great position to end their Premier League drought this season.

Crunching the numbers, X (formerly Twitter) user @DrRitzyy has shown the North London club have beaten their last-season metrics by nine points.

They have compared Arsenal’s results this season against the same Premier League fixtures from last year, showing whether they have gained or lost ground.

To maintain transparency, relegated sides have been replaced by their promoted counterparts.

So, Leeds United have replaced 18th-placed Leicester City, Burnley have come in for 19th-ranked Ipswich Town, and 20th-placed Southampton have made way for play-off winners Sunderland.

Points Gain Explained

As per the table, Arsenal have failed to match or improve upon their result from last season on three occasions.

Last season, they drew 2-2 with Liverpool at Anfield. This season, they lost 1-0 against the Reds.

In 2024/25, Arsenal beat Manchester City 5-1 at the Emirates Stadium, whereas this year, they settled for a draw.

Last year, they beat Fulham 1-0 at Craven Cottage, while this season, they were held to a 1-1 draw.

Arsenal scored all three points against Burnley, Leeds United, and Nottingham Forest, same as they did in comparable fixtures last season.

In the remaining six matches, Arsenal have gained a total of 14 points.

They have beaten Manchester United, Crystal Palace, Sunderland, and Brentford, having drawn all four in the same fixtures last season.

Lastly, they have beaten Newcastle United (away) and West Ham United (home), having suffered defeats against them in 2024/25.

Erling Haaland has warned Arsenal that Manchester City are still in the title race. And considering the experience they have, Man City cannot be counted out.

Given the level of improvement Arsenal have shown this season, even after suffering so many injuries, the Premier League title now feels firmly theirs to lose.
