Chelsea travel to the Emirates to take on Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon, and our match preview has the latest team news and predicted lineups ahead of the action.

Arsenal vs Chelsea Preview

Looking to extend their winning run across all competitions to five straight matches, Enzo Maresca and his Chelsea side head to North London to take on Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

The Blues booked their spot in the quarter-finals of the Conference League on Thursday with a 1-0 win over Copenhagen, a 3-1 victory on aggregate, following on from the win in the first leg and league triumphs over Southampton and Leicester.

Despite this winning run, star man Cole Palmer has failed to return in front of goal. The England international is without a goal or an assist in 10 straight matches for the East London outfit.

Heading into Gameweek 29, Maresca’s men occupy fourth place in the table, primed for European qualification once again, as they sit two points clear of Man City and Newcastle and two points behind third place Nottingham Forest.

Six points ahead of the Blues up in second place, Arsenal come into this one without a win in each of their last three English top-flight outings. It leaves them 15 points adrift of league leaders Liverpool.

Last time out domestically, they fought from behind to draw 1-1 away at Manchester United, and they were held to a 0-0 draw by Nottingham Forest and were beaten 1-0 by West Ham in the matches preceding that one.

Mikel Arteta’s side have also been in continental action, triumphing 7-1 in the first leg of their Champions League last 16 tie against PSV at the start of the month, before a 2-2 draw in the second leg last Wednesday.

Arsenal Team News

Long-term absentees Gabriel Jesus (knee), Kai Havertz (thigh) and Takehiro Tomiyasu (knee) are unavailable for the Blues’ visit on Sunday, and while Bukayo Saka (thigh) is nearing a comeback, this one comes too early for him.

Raheem Sterling, who is on loan at Arsenal from Chelsea, is ineligible to face his parent club.

Chelsea Team News

As for the visitors, they are without Marc Guiu (thigh), Nicolas Jackson (thigh), Noni Madueke (thigh) and Mykhailo Mudryk (suspended), while Omari Kellyman (fitness) and Malo Gusto (ankle) are doubts.

Wesley Fofana and Romeo Lavia, who both missed out in midweek after being omitted from Maresca’s squad for the knockout stages for the Conference League, should make their returns to the squad at the Emirates.

Arsenal vs Chelsea Prediction

The UK’s best football betting sites have Arsenal as 4/5 favourites to claim all three points in Sunday’s fixture, while a draw is rated at around 13/5 and a victory for the visiting Blues is priced at around 7/2.

Despite Chelsea’s strong form as of late and the Gunners’ tendency to play out stalemates, we’re backing Arteta’s men to bounce back with a much-needed victory in this one, but expect a tightly contested affair in the capital.

Prediction: Arsenal 2-1 Chelsea
