Aston Villa will look to return to winning ways in the Premier League when they host struggling Ipswich Town on Saturday afternoon.

Unai Emery’s side are winless in three and are in danger of slipping away from the Champions League qualification places.

Draws with Arsenal and West Ham followed by their recent 2-0 defeat to Wolves have left them eighth in the Premier League – six points outside the top-four.

However, top-five could still be good enough for the Champions League – with the fifth spot currently occupied by Manchester City who are four points above Villa.

Ipswich’s Last Visit To Villa Park

These sides have not met much over the last two decades – with Ipswich spending much of that time in the second tier.

Aston Villa though also had three seasons in the Championship and they last played Ipswich Town at home in their promotion season of 2018-19.

On that day, Tammy Abraham netted twice for Aston Villa in a 2-1 victory – with Freddie Sears scoring a consolation for Ipswich.

In the meeting at Portman Road earlier this season, Liam Delap scored twice in a 2-2 draw with the Villains. Ipswich are hoping they can take more points off Unai Emery’s side on Saturday to boost their survival hopes.
