Manchester United youngster Ayden Heaven suffered a concerning injury during his first Premier League start against Leicester City.
The 18-year-old, who recently made the switch from Arsenal to United, was stretchered off after a heavy collision in the second half of the game at the King Power Stadium.
How Ayden Heaven’s Injury Happened
Heaven was handed his first league start by manager Ruben Amorim against Leicester, following a series of impressive performances off the bench.
Early in the second half, Heaven stretched to block a dangerous cross from Jamie Vardy, preventing Patson Daka from a clear scoring opportunity.
While his efforts were acknowledged by goalkeeper Andre Onana, the situation quickly turned serious as Heaven remained down on the pitch.
The teenager immediately signalled for medical attention, prompting United’s medical team to rush onto the field. After a lengthy five-minute assessment, he was stretchered off and replaced by Toby Collyer.
Ruben Amorim’s Ayden Heaven Injury Update
Following the match, Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim addressed the injury concerns surrounding Heaven but admitted that more evaluations are needed.
“It’s hard to know because we have to evaluate during the week,” Amorim said. “Even when he was on the ground, he could not speak and couldn’t explain what he was feeling because he’s so young.”
While Amorim refrained from speculating on the severity of the injury, United’s medical team are expected to conduct further tests in the coming days.
