Report: Barcelona Could Earn Millions Through 10+ Former Players

La Liga leaders Barcelona could reportedly bolster their squad using funds from the transfers of 13 former players.
The Blaugrana, who have seen their Financial Fair Play (FFP) situation improve under the presidency of Joan Laporta, are expecting said surge of profit via the various clauses included in the contracts of recently sold players.
How Barcelona Plan to Earn Millions Through Former Players
As Barca Universal has noted, Barcelona have been paying close attention to the potential of their players, knowing they could help line the coffers even after departing the club. Here are the 13 players who could make Barca rich in the coming months and years.
Francisco Trincao: Barcelona sold Trincao to Sporting CP for €10 million (£8.4 million) in July 2023 but included a 50% sell-on clause, ensuring they would receive a big chunk of the next transfer fee. Trincao has a massive €80 million (£66.9 million) release clause in his contract, meaning Barca can earn as much as €40 million (£33.4 million) if it comes into play.

Mika Marmol: UD Las Palmas’ Mika Marmol has a €10 million (£8.4 million) release clause. Barcelona stand to make a cool €5 million (£4.2 million) if Marmol moves on.
Jean-Clair Todibo: Premier League side West Ham United are obligated to sign Jean-Clair Todibo for €40 million (£33.4 million) this summer. Barca have a 20% share in any future sales, which guarantees an €8 million (£6.7 million) haul.
Mikayil Faye: Stade Rennais’ Mikayil Faye can return to Barcelona if the club commit to pay €25 million (£20.9 million) for his services. They also stand to make 30% from any future transfer.
Vitor Roque: Vitor Roque joined Palmeiras from Barcelona in February, ending his lacklustre spell with the Blaugrana. If he bounces back and secures a move to a big club down the line, Barca stand to make 10%.
Ez Abde: Real Betis’ Ez Abde is also a potential cash cow for the Catalan outfit, as they own a 30% stake in future sales.
Oscar Mingueza: Oscar Mingueza, who plays at Celta Vigo, could reportedly leave the club for €20 million (£16.7 million). Thanks to a 50% clause, Barca could earn half.
Some More Names
Barcelona will also receive a 10% cut from Ilaix Moriba‘s sale. He is performing well at Celta Vigo (on loan from RB Leipzig), and there is a possibility of a €4.5 million (£3.8 million) switch. Barca would receive €450k (£376k) if the deal goes through. Ferran Jutgla, who joined Club Brugge in 2022, is also in the 10% club.
Barcelona have also bet big on Riqui Puig (LA Galaxy), Estanis Pedrola (Bologna), and Carles Alena (Alaves). The club stand to make 50% from their sales down the road.
Alex Collado, who plays for Al-Kholood, is the final name on the list. There is a 30% sell-on clause in the 25-year-old’s contract.
