Report: Barcelona Set Massive Price Tag for In-Form Raphinha

La Liga leaders Barcelona have set a mammoth price tag for Raphinha amid interest from multiple Saudi Arabian clubs. 

Raphinha joined the Blaugrana from Premier League side Leeds United for a €58 million (£47.9 million) fee in the summer of 2022. The Brazilian winger performed decently under former Barca manager Xavi, but he has been in a league of his own since Hansi Flick took charge in the summer of 2024.

In Flick’s system, Raphinha has gotten unlimited creative freedom, with the coach allowing him to move around in all offensive positions. With Raphinha making the most of his license, opposition defenders are having a hard time keeping him in check.

Since the beginning of the 2024-25 campaign, Raphinha has played 39 games in all competitions. He has scored 24 goals and provided 18 assists, emerging as his team’s leading goal contributor.

Understandably, Raphinha’s rise has not gone unnoticed, with many heavyweights keeping a close eye on him. According to Fichajes.net, multiple Saudi Pro League sides are tracking the 28-year-old, but Barcelona have no intention of selling him for a modest fee.

As per the aforementioned report, the Barcelona board is well aware of Raphinha’s impact on the team and is eager to keep him around for the foreseeable future. His contract, which runs until 30th June 2027, and eye-catching performances reportedly give him a high strategic value within Flick’s project at Barcelona.

Barca have made it clear that they will not entertain offers below €150 million (£123.9 million). The club believe the valuation is in line with the Brazil international’s world-class showings this season and his importance in the team. The Camp Nou outfit are in a much better economic state now and are not obliged to sell their most impressive performer.

Barcelona’s asking price has complicated matters for Saudi Arabian suitors. They would now have to make considerable financial sacrifices to have a shot at signing the No. 11. If any of the clubs decide to meet Barca’s valuation, Raphinha would become the most expensive signing in Saudi Pro League history. Neymar, who joined Al-Hilal from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) for €90 million (£74.3 million) currently holds the record.
