Spanish champions Barcelona will host Greek heavyweights Olympiacos on Tuesday night as they look to get their Champions League campaign back on track.Â
After registering one win and one defeat this season, the Blaugrana are in 16th place in the Champions League rankings. They must finish inside the top eight to secure an automatic place in the Round of 16.
Barcelona vs Olympiacos Champions League Preview
Barcelona breezed their way to the LaLiga title last year, as Real Madrid failed to live up to expectations. This year, Barca have looked a little vulnerable, having already dropped five points in the Spanish top flight.
With 22 points on the board, they sit in second place, trailing Los Blancos by two points.
Hansi Flick’s side gotten off to a winning start in the Champions League. They beat Newcastle United 2-1 at St. James’ Park, with Marcus Rashford starring with a brace.
Rashford, whose LaLiga debut was delayed due to registration uncertainty, has become one of the key figures at the club since joining from Manchester United.

Barcelona’s first Champions League home game, however, ended in defeat. Reigning European champions Paris Saint-Germain came from behind to beat the hosts 2-1.
Olympiacos, meanwhile, are looking for their first win of the Champions League season, after dropping points in their first two outings.
On Matchday 1, Olympiacos played out a disappointing goalless draw with Cypriot side Pafos FC. Pafos were down to 10 men for over 65 minutes, but Olympiacos still could not find a way through.

While Olympiacos have struggled in Europe, they are in a strong position in Super League 1. After seven rounds of fixtures, they have amassed 16 points and sit in second place in the standings. PAOK are leading the league with 17 points.
Barcelona vs Olympiacos Betting Tips
- Barcelona to Win – 1/5
- Barcelona to Lead at Half Time – 8/15
- Total Goals Under 4.5 – 4/11
Barcelona to Win – 1/5
Five-time Champions League winners Barcelona are aiming to end an 11-year drought for the biggest continental trophy. Finishing inside the top eight is crucial, as it eliminates the uncertainty of play-offs.
Olympiacos are massive underdogs going into the fixture, and we expect Barca to display their might right from kick-off. They also have an unbeaten record against the Thrylos, winning one game and drawing the other.
Barcelona to Lead at Half Time – 8/15
Barcelona will be looking for a bright start against Olympiacos to take the pressure off themselves. And their track record shows that Barca are quite good at getting off the mark in the first half.
Barca have scored in the first half in six of their last eight games in all competitions. In four of those matches, the first goal came inside the opening 30 minutes.
It only took Arsenal 12 minutes to break Olympiacos down. Barca, who have a superior attack, are likely to find success and go into the half time leading.
Total Goals Under 4.5 – 4/11
Olympiacos have yet t0 score in the Champions League, and it will not be easy for them to breach this Barcelona back line. Even if they do, more than one goal seems unlikely.
The Blaugrana, on the other hand, have only scored more than four goals in one game this season — in the 6-0 win over Valencia in mid-September.
All factored in, we are not expecting total goals to exceed 4.5 on Tuesday night.
