It’s been reported the Basher Watts Racing Syndicate have turned down a staggering $2.5m offer for their star filly She’s Perfect from an owner in Japan. Japan Owner Offers $2.5m For Basher Watts Racing Filly She’s Perfect Despite having won just £134k, the Nick Luck Daily Podcast have reported that the Basher Watts Racing team have REJECTED an offer of $2.5m from an unknown owner in Japan. She’s Perfect initially cost just €35,500 at the Goffs Sale back in September 2023. But was then purchased by the Basher Watts Racing Syndicate for €50,000. The Sioux Nation filly has already recouped that outlay for her 36 syndicate owners. Having won £33k for landing the G3 Prix de la Grotte at Longchamp in France back in April. It’s believed, however, ALL 36 owners rejected the offer – you can hear why below. Which would have worked out around £60k each. What Actually Happened? Basher Watts Explains So I see a whole lot of opinions (both negative & positive) about Basher, all I want to say is no matter what you think of him, the fact he’s SO transparent with everything is so so refreshing to see. The best way to get people involved in the sport in my opinion. Brilliant! 👏 https://t.co/fPVwSmiaSU — Zoe Smith (@zoelouisesmithx) June 12, 2025 The horse then added another £103,909.09 for taking second in the G1 French 1000 Guineas in May, which was a race covered in controversy. She’s Perfect crossed the line in front in the French 1000 Guineas – winning by a nose. However, was later disqualified by the French stewards after they deemed she caused interference to the eventual winner Zarigana (watch below). This move from first to second cost connections £155,818.18 . With the first prize for the French 1000 Guineas £259,727.27. Despite an appeal by her owners in the following weeks, the French racing authorities upheld their original decision, which meant She’s Perfect remained in second. She’s Perfect is next in action in France. This will be in the Sunday’s Prix de Diane Longines (French Oaks) – where she’s expected to go off favourite in a race worth £472,231 to the winner.
