Tottenham face a major setback in the Benjamin Sesko transfer race, with Premier League rivals leading the chase.
The race to sign the RB Leipzig striker is heating up, with Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United all vying for the highly-rated forward.
However, according to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, Tottenham have ‘very little chance’ of securing his signature.

Tottenham Unlikely to Land Sesko
Despite their ongoing search for attacking reinforcements, Tottenham are considered firm outsiders in the pursuit of Sesko.
The 21-year-old Slovenia international was heavily linked with Arsenal last summer before opting to sign a new long-term contract with Leipzig.
Tottenham’s attacking depth has already been weakened by a string of injuries, and the long-term futures of Heung-min Son and Richarlison remain uncertain.
Key forward Dejan Kulusevski has recently been sidelined with a foot injury, limiting Ange Postecoglou’s options up front, but he will have Dominic Solanke back available soon.
Arsenal Lead the Chase for Sesko
Mikel Arteta’s side remains the frontrunner in the Benjamin Sesko transfer saga, but their path is far from straightforward.
Chelsea and Manchester United are expected to compete for his signature, and Sesko’s contract includes a release clause that makes him an attractive target.
The current buy-out clause stands at around £58 million but is expected to rise to £66 million by the summer, depending on performance-based triggers.
Sesko has continued to impress this season, scoring 17 goals in 34 appearances despite playing for an RB Leipzig side struggling to secure Champions League qualification.
Arsenal’s pursuit of Sesko has become even more pressing due to their own current injury crisis. Kai Havertz is out until the summer, while Gabriel Jesus’ knee injury will likely keep him out for most of, if not all of, 2025.
