Real Madrid travel to France to take on Brest in the Champions League on Wednesday evening, and we’ve got the latest team news and predicted lineups included within our match preview.

Brest vs Real Madrid Preview

Looking to break into the top eight to secure automatic advancement to the last-16, Real Madrid head to France to take on Brest on the final matchday of the Champions League league phase on Wednesday.

Los Blancos, who are the competition’s record-winners with 15 titles, are currently in 16th place in the table on 12 points, while their Ligue 1 counterparts are one point ahead up in 13th place.

The pair are already assured of a spot in the knockout phase play-offs, but a win on Wednesday, along with other results going in their favour, could see either side break into the top eight alongside the likes of Liverpool and Barcelona.

Last time out, on MD7, Real Madrid cruised to a 5-1 win over Austrian side RB Salzburg thanks to braces from Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo and a goal from Kylian Mbappe, following on from their 3-2 victory over Atalanta on MD6.

Brest, meanwhile, were beaten 2-0 by Shakhtar Donetsk in Gelsenkirchen in their last continental outing, extending their winless run in the competition to three straight matches after losing to Barcelona and drawing against Bayer Leverkusen.

Coming into this one, both sides enjoyed wins in their respective domestic leagues at the weekend. Les Pirates beat Le Havre 1-0 in the French top-flight, and Los Blancos maintained their position at the top of the Spanish top-flight table with a comfortable 3-0 win over Real Valladolid, with Mbappe netting his first hat-trick for the club.

Brest Team News

The hosts have a handful of injury concerns heading into this one, with Bradley Locko (leg), Jordan Amavi (thigh) and Karamoko Dembele (muscular) set to miss out.

Mama Balde is also a major doubt after being forced off after just 20 minutes against Le Havre at the weekend.

Real Madrid Team News

As for the visitors, they are without Brazilian winger Vinicius Jr. through suspension, while Dani Carvajal (knee), Eder Militao (knee) and Eduardo Camavinga (hamstring) are ruled out through injury.

With Vinicius out, Brahim Diaz is likely to start in his place, although Arda Guler and Endrick are also options.

Brest vs Real Madrid Prediction

Eric Roy’s Brest have enjoyed a majorly impressive debut campaign in Europe, exceeding all expectations set upon them, however, we expect Real Madrid to issue them with a reality check on Wednesday night.

Los Blancos are, unsurprisingly, favoured to prevail at around 19/50 by the UK’s best football betting sites, while an unlikely win for the hosts is valued at 7/1 and a draw is priced at around 4/1.

We at SportsCasting are backing the reigning champions to claim a comfortable victory at the Stade du Roudourou to extend their winning run to five straight matches across all competitions.

Prediction: Brest 0-3 Real Madrid
