Carabao Cup Fourth Round Best Bets on Wednesday
Arsenal vs Brighton Betting Tip (19:45 KO)
First off, we’re backing Arsenal to beat Brighton and to keep a clean sheet at the Emirates.
The Gunners head into the tie as the Premier League leaders, four points clear of second place Bournemouth and 10 points clear of the Seagulls, and they are unbeaten in 10 in all competitions.
This run includes impressive wins over Athletic Club, Atletico Madrid and Newcastle, a draw vs Manchester City, and, most recently, a narrow 1-0 triumph over Crystal Palace on Sunday.
They have now won seven successive matches in all competitions, six of which they have kept a clean sheet in. Additionally, they have kept clean sheets in each of their last five outings.
By far and away the most in-form side in England, we can’t see Brighton troubling Mikel Arteta’s side here. We expect the North Londoners to book their spot in the quarter-finals with ease.
Best Bet:Â Arsenal to Win and Both Teams to Score – No @ 8/5
Liverpool vs Crystal Palace Betting Tip (19:45 KO)
Next up, we’re backing Palace to qualify for the last eight by prevailing over Liverpool.
The Eagles are unbeaten in three consecutive matches against last season’s Premier League champions, including a penalty shootout win in the Community Shield back in August, as well as a 2-1 victory in the league at Selhurst Park towards the end of last month.
Oliver Glasner’s side are without a win in four since their Conference League win over Dynamo Kiev at the start of the month, but their Merseyside counterparts are in arguably worse form.
Arne Slot’s side suffered a shock 3-2 defeat by Brentford on Saturday, meaning they have now lost each of their last four English top-flight matches. It leaves them in seventh in the table.
This could certainly go either way, but given Palace’s strong recent head-to-head record against Liverpool, we’re backing them to come out on top, either in normal time or on penalties.
Best Bet:Â Crystal Palace to Qualify @ 2/1
Swansea vs Manchester City Betting Tip (19:45 KO)
Championship side Swansea host Manchester City in the only game involving a side that isn’t in the Premier League on Wednesday, and we’re backing City to make that completely evident.
This is because we’re tipping Pep Guardiola’s side to win both halves of the fixture.
City have achieved this feat in three of their last four head-to-head matches vs Swansea.
Additionally, the Swans head into the tie in mixed form, having won just two of their last eight matches in the second tier. It’s a return that sees them sit in 13th place in the league table.
Meanwhile, the Cityzens have lost just one of their last 10 matches in all competitions. This run includes wins over Manchester United, Napoli, Everton, Villarreal, Burnley and more.
Despite boasting home advantage, we simply cannot see the Swans troubling City here.
Best Bet:Â Manchester City to Win Both Halves @ 11/8
Wolves vs Chelsea Betting Tip (19:45 KO)
Premier League basement side Wolves welcome Chelsea to Molineux for their fourth round encounter at 19:45 on Wednesday evening, and we’re backing Blues youngster Estevao to score.
The 18-year-old has impressed in West London since his arrival from Palmeiras in the summer, having netted for Enzo Maresca’s side in wins over Liverpool and Ajax during October.
He also scored a brace in Brazil’s 5-0 win over South Korea earlier this month.
Estevao is yet to establish himself as a regular starter in the league, most likely due to his lack of experience, however he is expected to feature heavily in cup competitions this season.
With that in mind, we’re expecting him to be named in the lineup for the trip to the West Midlands and are backing him to score at any time for Chelsea over the course of 90 minutes.
Best Bet:Â Estevao to Score at Any Time @ 21/10
Newcastle vs Tottenham Betting Tip (20:00 KO)
In Wednesday’s later kick off between reigning champions Newcastle and Thomas Frank’s Tottenham, we’re backing the Magpies to qualify for the next round and for both teams to score.
Eddie Howe’s side have prevailed in five of their last six head-to-head matches against Spurs and have won each of their last three home fixtures against the North London outfit.
They head into this one in strong form too, having won four of their last five in all competitions.
Tottenham, meanwhile, have won just two of their last six competitive outings.
Although their recent record against Newcastle is poor, Spurs consistently get on the scoresheet against the Tyneside club. 10 of their last 11 head-to-heads have seen both teams score.
We’re backing that trend to continue here, with the hosts advancing to the quarter-finals.
Best Bet:Â Newcastle to Qualify and Both Teams to Score – Yes @ 6/4
